Do you have ANY idea what could happen if you are a federal agent and you are helping someone get away with something? I guess you may not be too familiar with Feds.the_clockwork said:

1) The government has ZERO control over my resume. I typed it on MY computer and I didn't pass it through a government mandated resume screener.
2) Excessive fining and bailing is illegal, how can the feds do this, an eye for an eye?
3) Jail seems a little much, look at Libby

but really, who the fuck here can give you solid advice on such a matter unless they actually work for the rental company you are going to? Call them up... see if they will accept your cc.. if not then use your bf's... no freaking biggie. Don't opt for the additional insurance (like kb said) until you check with your insurance co... they usually cover rental insurance.
If all else fails, pay for the car cash, use his card as a hold and when you return it pay the remainder cash. They will ask for a cc # but usually won't charge the acct if you tell them you want to pay cash.
