I'm sorry to hear about that Would it be possible for her to move in with you?

I wish I could say yes, but "no". We have the space, but seeing how I work full time and Marina, my wife, stays at home, even if my intentions were not for her to bear the burden, it would inadvertently fall on her shoulders. I wouldn't do that to her. We cared for my father for 10 years and it was....umm...VERY trying to put it mildly.

She's going into a short term care facility in a day or two and I'm asking for their assessment on the level of care she will require.

that's VERY good, to assess instead of assume, there could be other options, like a live in nurse or maybe she just needs a part time caregiver, better to know for sure.
