Protein Factory Aussie Casein

I love PF and all, but I'm still trying to figure out what makes Aussie casein such a better casein beside the site claims of:

* Has been jacked up with a better amino acid profile
* Has a higher glutamic acid content
* Has a superior anti-catabolic effect than regular non-Australian Caseinates
* 4.5% higher in protein than regular caseinate
* Better tasting and mixability

This sounds like bro-science to me

I don't think there is anything super special about it. No reason to spend the dough on it. Get some cheap casein, get some gear when it comes out...

I'm not sure myself. Alex is like the biggest protein nerd in the world and is fascinated with all the possibilities.

Aussie supposedly is more easily microinstantized so it mixes better. The milk is also supposedly a superior quality giving a slightly higher amino acid %. It also has a slightly sweeter taste. Honestly, after all is said and done, I don't think it's any different or better than regular casein.

Sometimes having a lot of options just adds to confusion. That's why I kept BIG BLAST simple -- I used a combination of the BEST protein (super plasma serum) and the best TASTING (cross filtered whey) and the most COMPLETE protein - whole egg, which was the basis of the old BLAIR protein. You really don't need anything more than that.

Ok Is Casein whey a must? I just don't want to go buying three different types of whey. One Post-workout, A whey Isolate, then Some egg, casein...etc...

It isn't really necessary. I think absorption time is over estimated. No one ever made incredible gains by timing their meals better.

Since you don't exert energy while sleeping, even a quickly absorbed protein will work throughout the night. Have a BIG BLAST with milk at night and you're covered.

I bought 2 lbs of it, gourmet vanilla. It's OK, but I couldnt drink it without being mixed in Big Blast. Maybe its the flavor. Gritty taste, but like I said, its edible. 1/4 cup of aussie casein, 1/4 cup of BB at bedtime. Thats how I do. Nothing spectacular to report. Probably wont buy it again.

I can't say for sure, but I have the impression that using relative absorption times and using different proteins to keep a constant flow of protein, has made a difference to me.

There are a lot of small things I've tweaked in my diet, but that and adding more frequent SPP has really made an impact. I've never in my life been able to cut really hard and continue to gain in small amounts of LBM and decent amounts of strength.

Now I can't say with 100% certainty what the cause is. But the constant protein influx has to be part of it.

Thanks gentlemen. I've gotta go with the thought that Homeostasis is the key factor. Meaning, We have to change it up as much as possible so we don't reach it. I think Different types of proteins would probably help with that. I really want to get some big blast, but is it ok for some decent amount of cutting too?

Before bed I usually use ON Casein and since I need to order more Big Blast here shortly I figured I'd get my Casein there too. I would agree with Nelson, the differences are probably negligible.

Here is my sleep schedule, I work nights so its a little different. 8am I fall asleep, usually by 11:30am I am awake to piss (from all my water consumption) and back to sleep where I get up at 2pm to go to the gym so I am finished by 4pm when I have to pick up my kid. I do find though, that if I take Whey before bed vs my Casein, when I wake up around 11:30am to piss I am starving if I've only had whey. When I have Casein I am good to go until 2pm. Just my 2 cents

Before bed I usually scramble up six omega three eggs. You can't perfect the perfect protein :)
