there are very clear and plane as day studies that show that the lower you keep your bodyfat the more likely it is you will gain more muscle than fat. i suggest you read some studies at t-mag. and being fat is not an excuse to slopply bulk up.

when you continue to bulk at a high fat percentage you will gain more fat than muscle. read up and good luck

Enlighten us on your studies. Is t-mag a scientific, refereed journal? You know, like ACSM's Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise or the NSCA's Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research.

sure its easy to gain mass and stay lean......... if you take "flintstones vitamins and Celltech"

but for those of us natural, its a little harder to keep those ever so popular 6 pack abs and gain a ton of size.

yes you can gain size and stay lean natural. but i dont think 5-10 lbs a year gain of lbm is worth keeping such a strict unhappy diet.

sure i may gain 5-15 lbs of fat after a years time, but i will have 15-25lbs of muscle to go with it.

just my opinion.......... but then again i dont have a subscription to t-mag though.

there is some progress made, but my one serious critique is you have a great frame that can hold lots of muscle, just sharpen up the diet a little and be patient

I guess I could add that those second sets of pics were taken after I had done some serious Swaining. But that would be making excuses and I'm not about that at all.

I've still got a long way to go. But I'm working on it.
