Well, I was up in Seattle at a new gym. Had talked to the owner the previous week, and he told me that he had to recruit me for his PL team. Ended up lifting today, instead of yesterday, and putting on my squat suit. It had been almost 3 months. anyways, warmed up with just my briefs on. hit a very easy single with 405. Put on my inzer hybrid+. jumped to 500. let me back track a second, remind you guys that I slipped a disk in march of last year, rode the train up to Seattle the day before, and could hardly walk cause the ride hurt my back.
Fast forward to first attempted squat with my suit on. Lifted the 500 out of the rack, got down, felt some pain, and decided to dump it. Fuck, I thought to myself. This guy wants to recruit me for his team, and here I am dumping 500lbs. Way to impress the guy.
I give a short explaination of my back. He says maybe you shouldn't squat. Wrong thing to say. Or maybe it was the right thing to say. I tell him to strip it down to 410, I'll hit something easy with the suit on, and then go from there. 410 cake. 460 cake. 505cake. 550 cake.
Depth looks really good. Maybe you should stop there.
Couldn't help but laugh. Nodded my head, and said Plate it.
590 gets loaded on the bar (6 plates per side, plus 5lbs of collars.) 3 spotters. One was the gym owner, one was his wife, and one was a guy who judges IPF meets, and two guys from the team showed up. Un-racked it, set myself.
Got down in the hole, and smoked it. Talked the gym owner after we racked the weight, and he said that he had told me when I had hit depth, but I looked in the mirror to make sure, and went a little deeper. Then said that most people wouldn't attempt anything else after dumping a weight early on. Regardless, that was a new PR. I had some room to spare. But it had been almost 3 months since putting on the suit. I had the suit on for about 30 minutes, and my legs were turning blue from the circulation getting cut off. \
Gonna squat again next week, and put the suit on again. I'll try to set up my camera and get some video and post it.

Great work... i'm in awe. Not many people, as you said, after dumping big weight like that can even get at it again right away... let alone surpassing it to a new PR... dayum... and even after you've slipped a disk the previous year! *golf clap*

Awesome job, bro. It's always cool to hear about guys moving big weight. Nicely done. Sounds like your back is not a weak link. LoL
 
just wanted to thank everyone for the encouragement. 600 is there, I just have to put it on my back. Will definately set up the camera next week, and get some video. it was the first time I had put my suit on in 3 months, so I was kind of getting a feel for the suit again. plus, now that I have a lot better idea where I am at, I can plan my warm up set much better, and take bigger jumps in getting there. if all goes well the rest of the week, I'm really gonna push the envelope for a max on monday.
