Powerblocks: They any good?

Gomer

I live in a small apartment, so I am looking for something to just keep in shape (I am no big powerlifter by any margin) and these looked pretty nifty (and not as wide as the bowflex selecttech).

These look to be an old design from years ago, but I can't find anything really new on them. They still worth it? Pricing online seemed to be about the same no matter where you went.

Thanks for any suggestions/comments etc :)

I have the set that goes to 125. I like them but I haven't done dumbell stuff in a good while.

They're pretty solid and balanced and easy to change. I've had a couple times where the pin felt like it was going to slip out but probably due to my not having the magnetized side facing the right way.

I also like the fact that they're flat on the ends so you can rest 'em on your thighs without digging in.

I have a set here at the house to use when I can't get to the gym. I also bought their adjustable bench. I think they work very well. They are easy to use, and don't take up much room. I highly recommend them. I think the latest issue of Muscle and Fitness, or one of the BB mags, has a whole article on excersises to do with PowerBlocks. It was helpful, as it showed some things I would not have thought of, such as sitting on the end of your bench, and standing the weight on end just above your knees. Put a book or something on the ground and you can do seated calf raises. It had alot of good excercises to use beyond the standard stuff.

I definitely recommend them if you dont have a lot of space. Just get an adjustable bench that folds up.
