Postal employees

uh oh, no mo OT for them. @ 23 an hour that's like 34 or so per hour, and extra 14K or so per year, I'd be pissed, too :)

No...they'd still get 40 hours. Their days off would be Saturday/Sunday.

Well..they still get overtime if they go slow on their routes. The TE's are the ones that should be grouchy as they will loose their jobs if this goes through

why would the regular FT employees be pissed if they had sat/sun off?

I wasn't speaking of the actual carriars. But he said he thought she was a supervisor.

She would be pissed because if this goes through they are going to have to figure out how to fit 6 days of mail into 5, and still have their people get done in 8 hours.

See...the Job of the TE is to go and take swings from the full time carriar to keep them from getting overtime. If it goes to 5 days a week. TE's will be laid off. Then the carriars will have no one to relieve them. Thus they can take their sweet ass time and get all the overtime they want.

my father in law is pretty high up the chain in the usos and he told me that a lot of the people working for him relied on the OT to buy their houses and cars and one year right before christmas the USPS cut ALL OT across the board. a lot of the employees got screwed and lost their cars and some their houses because they couldnt make the payments. he said that wasnt the worse for him, what sucked worse than cutting OT was being the person that also had to tell the certain people they were fired.

Were they supervisors? Or were those people he fired non-union employees?
