post workout - gh release or protein intake

Ok, here is something i am struggling with a bit...

Its my understanding that the 2 peak times that gh is released is during/post excercise and when sleeping.

I have been told that it is not good to eat (due to insulin spikes) 2 hours before or after gh injection/supplementation...

So taking this same theory, if we are releasing precious gh during/post excercise, aren't we interfering with it with post workout shakes (causing insulin spikes)?

If so, then the question is, what is more valuable... the GH release or the protein intake after a workout...????

I am sure the majority will say definately protein intake... but interested to see everyones input.
 
Depends on your goals.

For fat burning, wait a bit longer to eat.

For muscle building, take the protein shake.
 
Actually GH is released DURING stressful exercise. Post WO is when it's best to ingest protein and in an absorbable form such as whey isolate. Hydrolyzed is even better and plasma protein is better still. In fact, plasma protein is always best but a little impractical price-wise.
