I'm moving to a new city in a few months, so I don't want to bother with a gym right now. I happen to have a few sets of kettlebells that are fairly heavy (largest set is 53 pounds each). I also have an old bench and some light dumbbells.
My question is would it be possible to make significant gains (e.g. 10 pounds of mass) with the kettlebells? I've been doing mostly the same movements I would do with dumbbells -- I've discovered that there's very little you can do with a dumbbell or barbell that you can't replicate in some way with a kettlebell.
Still, I've never heard of anyone doing this (trying to put on mass as opposed to explosive strength with kettlebells), so I'm not sure if I'm wasting my time thinking I'll put on a decent amount of muscle mass.
