posing at gym

I think if you got the muscle, flex away. (In the locker room that is.) I don't mind seeing people flex every once in awhile in the gym area, but these guys who spend more time flexing then they do lifting get on my nerves.
Also, the guys who either have no muscle, or have so much fat you can't see the muscle have no business flexing in the mirrors. Its a pathetic site to see that.

are there other reasons for the mirrors?

Ya....I don't think they put mirrors in gyms so you can look at yourself flexing.
They're there so you can watch yourself while your lifting to ensure good form, and to watch your muscles work.

the oak actually recommends that you pose/flex between sets for seperation and to work the muscle fibers that havnet been worked, i just do it when noone is looking:)

AMEN!.. I love posing in b/t sets, not because I'm a conceited ass...but it fills the muscle up w/that much more blood..thus getting a better pump. It also helps you know where you stand when you're dieting down for competition. I usually try NOT TO pose in front of the prettier women though..

I pose only when I'm by myself, or for my girlfriend. I'm too self conscious
about my bodyfat to pose in front of people just yet.

When im doing high rep sets, i always hit a few poses right after i hit failure-it makes it a little harder. Its also a good time to see your new growth! The only time i feel stupid posing in teh gym is when there is a dude that looks much better/bigger there-i just know what hes thinking if he sees me " Haha, he thinks hes big!"
Even though i dont flex for any other gym goers benefit but mine, it's fun to draw stares after a sick pump!:eek2:
