u remember when i asked if u ever had flexed so hard that u cramped? this is the extreme squeeze minus the cramping.

Guardian I follow the same concept . I always tell people it is not how much you lift it is how you lift it.

I see guys like you mention doing endless lat pull downs. I can watch and see the lats are not even doing the work. I can use half the weight grip the bar and actually pull with the lats , squeeze ,flex contract them and work the lats and feel them pump up and swell.
Sure it hurts the ego at first but fuck it I am trying to be a bodybuilder not a weightlifter.

Bodybuilder = sculpts the body
weightlifter = moves weight

I go through cycles where I do lift alot of weight with a fast explosive motion but that might only be for a few weeks or one excersize during a routine.

People watch me do standing alternate bicep curls and think is strange i do not use alot of weight , 3 seconds during supination up ,squeeze flex 3 seconds down back to prone position per arm a set takes almost 2 minutes 10 reps per arm and by the time I am done with one set ,some nilly head next to me has finished his 3 sets of what i call " bicep upper cuts " bicep curls throwing the weight and using his elbows motion to take the pressure off the biceps . Usually the girls get proper form and tempo's in my gym more then the guys.

I am not the strongest guy at the gym , nor could I care

im still not sure about the extreme squeeze, but basically, everytime i lift, i work til failure, if i havnt, ive done something wrong or ive gained strength which means i need to increase the poundage in order to work til failure. when i get to those last few where im starting to struggle, it does go sort of like tunnel vision, and at that moment, to me, pushing that bar til my arms are fully extended/legs locked becomes the most important thing in the world(not at the expense of good form) and for a few seconds nothing else matters.

19. I was 6'1" 160 lbs. Now same height at 250. Been as heavy as 270. Will beat that this winter.

come on then guys and girls, i want to know how old you were when you started bb as a lifestyle. also, what made you decide to go at it properly, how old you were when you first used steroids, and why? did you wait ages before trying gear, and was it through choice or because that was the soonest you could find a reliable source lol!

Define "bb lifestyle."

14th birthday when I purchased a bench, couple barbells / dumbells & some plates. I'd graduated from doing own body weight exercises and using bottles filled with water duct taped to a baseball bat as a barbell :FRlol:

That's when I took physical conditioning (rather than BBing) seriously for rugby.

Define "bb lifestyle."

regarding stosstruppe's comment, in hindsight i should have written "physical conditioning lifestyle" as not everyone here is a bodybuilder, including me.
i mean not just clanking iron about in the gym, i mean taking it seriously, sitting down with a calculator and working out all your meals' macronutrient ratios, timing your meals, going to bed early everynight, learnt how to train in the most effective style for the goals you want to accomplish. stuff like that.
