Before my back injury my workouts were usually done in about an hour. I was just wondering how long everyone elses here is and if they are a powerlifter or bodybuilder.

Oh, no, another PL vs BB thread. Can we settle on whether you prioritise for looks or strength?

I go with strength. It's great to be able to measure progress and open my own jars. I also like my food too much to worry about low bf.

Workouts last anywhere between 45 and 90 minutes.

45- 90 minutes -- it all depends if I add 30 minutes of cardio at the end. I don't often exceed 60 minutes of weights though.

Depends what day I'm on:

chest/front delts/biceps-1 hour
legs-45 minutes
back/rear+side delts/triceps-1 hour

These are from the time I'm done stretching to my last set.

Really depends - a) which bodypart, b) heavy vs. moderate weight, c) supersets/giant sets vs straight up. Put it this way: the days which I lift heavy and don't do any supersets or giant sets, I'll be in the gym for at least an hour and a half. Days which I do smaller bodyparts, incorporate supersets and use moderate weight, I'll be done in an hour.

Poll could use some options over 1 hour. The number of people truly in and out in 1 hour and under is fairly small and not exactly a 'more is better' protocol.

It takes me anywhere from 45 minutes to 1:30 depending upon what it is that I have to do. I move as quickly as I am able to while still getting done what I need to.

It depends, usually a little over one hour. I usually hit two body parts per workout, except on leg day. My training is a combination of bbing and power lifting.

45 minutes usually, anything more and ill be dead. i dont do much rest inbetween sets and lifts though.

My weight lifting workouts are between 45-60mins tops as your testosterone levels start depleting after about 50mins unless of course you're using injectable test.

& I will usually do 15-20mins of cardio so no more than 1hr 20mins tops

Chest tricepts = 45 minutes ...I know what im doing, know what machines im after, know exactly the weight I need, that is my day of NO THINKING,just get it done.

Back/Shoulders=60-65 miniutes... Just takes a lil longer, and I contaplate what I wanna do sometimes. ALot of people dont agree about back/shoulders same day,but I have my reasons....

Legs and Bicepts=50-55 minutes, should be 45 min,but I have been overtraining my bicepts on purpose lately for my own reasons....Doing 15-18 sets.Legs dont take long,as I have weak legs and squats kill them in 3 sets....

womanizer (name right?) you work out for 2 or 2.5 hours??? damn man...you need to chill out.

5x5 takes longer than I expected so about 1.43879 hours, but normally I work out for about 1.0298 hours...I usually hit abs hard and long, so this takes up time too (15 minutes or so)

Hey, do you think that you could be a little more specific about how long you train for, it not very helpful unless you are exact! :)

I train for about an hour, however, I cant see much getting done in less:

My initial warmup takes 10 minutes and the warmdown is 5 mins on bike and almost 10 minutes of stretching. I don't know if people are including these times in their workout, otherwise, my workouts without them last for 25-40 minutes.

takes me 45-90 minutes, depending on the day, and how i feel. sometimes i get in there and do my ME movement, and dont do anything else because my body tells me not to. sometimes, i can go in, do my main movement for the day, and be able to do all kinds of accessory work. the amount of time it takes me to do the workout is determined by my body.

sorry musketeer..I rounded off a little on my normal workouts 1.02983 is the exact number...I suck :(

but seriously, womanizer, you work out for up to 2.5 hours? (crank?)

Used to train for 1.5 hours before. Now its 50 - 60 minutes and my gains have been better. More condensed work outs with no extended rest, complacency, or over training is the way to do it.
