I was at Office Depot this week buying some file folders and pens when I suddenly noticed a pretty little colorful thingee on display. I rushed over and picked up the pretty little colorful thingee and noticed that it was, essentially, a PalmPilot on steroids. It was a 206mhz 32MB ram computer small enough to fit in my back pocket that had MS Windows, Word, Excel, hell... EVEN MEDIA PLAYER installed on it. It was amazing, incredible - it looked as though it fell from the heavens.

The problem is, I don't need a PalmPilot, much less a Pocket PC. Someone plz convince me to buy one anyway. I think the 2nd best HP Jornada and Compaq iPaq run for around $400.

Just imagine... I could install little games on it and play during class and pretend I'm taking notes!

YOU NEED A PALM, YOU NEED A PALM, YOU NEED A PALM.

Did I convince you? Personally I don't understand the point of them. The screen is so small I can't read what's on it. I sit in front of a computer all day anyway so why would I want to carry one around with me?

I was about to get one a few monthes back but then i realized how pointless they are, so i decided to get myself a Laptop and a cell phone, same shit. LoL

U can sinc it up for real time market qoutes and you can even trade online if you have a wireless or cell connection. How is that for practical! Plus I have like a gazzillion names, numbers etc...

I have a handspring b/c I was convinced that I wanted the gps for it.
now I rarely use it.

I went to commerceone awhile back on a business trip and there was a guy there that had a wireless net connection for his palm V and I have to admit, it was pretty frickin cool - you could set up a ton of shit - a webserver, you could check mail - it had ssh, all sorts of mail forwarding possibilities.

that said, I like desktops. even laptops annoy me - handhelds are too damn small - the best use for them are as controls for machinery (if you want a desk sized instrument, you can then have a nice interface via a plam and it allows all kinds of fun things).

don't forget porn neither.

Warik- you do not need a pocket pc, trust me. instead i would dish out another 4-500$ and get an handheld pc (i own an nec mobilepro 790) . its can do 90% of what a laptop can do, battery lasts for 7-10 hours, instant-on, the chicks dig it, it weighs 1.7 pounds....sure it wont fit in your pocket, but have you ever tried to write an email with a stylus? you need a keyboard dammit!
