I believe in God, but am uncertain about Christianity.

The idea that you either subscribe to all the beliefs in our club, or you're doomed to eternal damnation is difficult for me to accept, especially sense there are many older religions.
It must be even more difficult for you to accept since you got teh giegh

Proverbs 10:2-3:(KJV): "Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death. 3 The LORD will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked."

I have had many God struggles in life. I was raised Catholic until I was about 8 or 9 years old. Then, I left my biological mother/family. I was put into several places for kids without parents. For some reason, around here, those places are populated with 90% blacks and very rarely you find a white or hispanic(i'm a combo). Not many Catholics. So when I went to churches after that, they were primarily baptist. Either way, up til the age of 11, it was always Christian churches for me. When I was 11, I was adopted by a Jewish man. His wife was raised Catholic. These are the people I consider my true parents/family. I learned a TON about the jewish faith from my father. He never forced it on me but I did pick up a HUGE level of respect for the religion. My father(even though he was Jewish) sent me to a Catholic school. It was the best education around and that's what my father wanted for me. It was hard at school because I had always considered myself a christian..... but was walking around a catholic school with a very jewish last name. Some of the nuns were confused about me being there. In my house, we celebrated Jewish and christian holidays. My dad didn't take away Christmas just because he wasn't christian. He didn't think it would be fair for me.
I spent several years hating God. I spent several years loving God. One of my best friends was from Iran. I loved being around her family. They were a great family and Muslim. I have much respect for all religions.
I discovered my true feelings about God while working as a paramedic. I hated God after the first 6 months of my job. As I matured and adjusted, I realized that I could not doubt God. I was watching God's work every day. I learned to accept the good and the bad. Since then, everything fell into place in my life.
Now, I know God is there. Plus, I believe in PEOPLE. I don't care if someone is christian or muslim or jewish.... or whatever. The God I believe in and love just wants people to help and not hurt. I don't care what religion u choose. If you are good to humans and other living things..... THEN UR FINE BY ME.
