Let me clarify, for you misinterpreted my post. I said I was not concerned, meaning about having Dunk place me in his inner circle, just so that I won't have to be worried about him insulting me. That's funny to me. Do I think he's a moron with an EF grandiose complex? Yes. What do I think should he stay gone? Beautiful. Will I cry and leave should he stay? Uh...no.

OK, this thread was an excellent example of George's quick wit and had some serious potential. Unfortunately and as usual, it has been ruined by two individuals whining like little bitches. So-and-so is being mean to me. Seriously, stop crying and shut the fuck up.

Business is business ... it's clear you try to take all the members into consideration, you try to be fair (and I really think that you actually not only meet the call of duty but go above and beyond that call to your customers), in other words, you really seem to try to treat your clients with respect. To give one member special consideration leaves you in a position where, not only do you have to defend business decisions, you also you have the situation of giving a person an inch, they take a mile and so forth ... then there is the inevitable whiner who says "but you did it for so-and-so ..." who needs that crap? Rules are made so each case doesn't have to be re-evaluated and the wheel reinvented time and time again, with the inevitable time (MONEY) that is wasted considering each situation ...

A platinum membership is nonrefundable, END OF DISCUSSION, the way I would expect something like that refunded is only under extreme hardship that could be proven (IMO, a situation like the husband buys lifetime plat then dies suddenly and unexpectedly a few months later, it would be nice if his widow could collect back some of that money, that's about it ... )

So if you're asking my opinion, I say options #1 and #12.

If the man is coming onto the site and posting slanderous things he is not ONLY acting immature, but also screwing with your livelihood, ergo, you don't owe him a thing. You gave him special consideration once and this is how it gets repaid :rolleyes:

Dunk is a good bro. Nobody is perfect, but Dunk has contributed a lot to the C&C forum here. Lots of good camera phone picture threads, lots of funny threads, he interacts well with other members, etc.

I think that people sometimes lose sight of the fact that this is a business. You can't expect the members here to look at it in terms of dollars and cents as you do George, but you can ask them to be respectful.

I say allow him to come back with a month to month membership if he so chooses.

I wouldn't expect a pro rated refund of lifetime plat, so that is up to you.

As far as the other creative ideas, they are funny, but I don't think they would be very positive for anyone here really.

I feel SoreArms pain on the customer service issues. I'm not talking about BRR specifically, because he has always given me excellent customer service, above and beyond what I would expect really.

But there is a support link, when you use the link it creates an automated response with a case number. I have used this myself and gotten no response or a delayed response. I have heard stories of other people using it and getting no response.

If the support link is going to be effective, it needs to be taken seriously by both the memebrs and the people behind the scenes looking at the tickets. Ultimately I think what your paying members want is a reliable way to get customer service if an issue arises. Like I said, Rick goes above and beyond many times, but we can't expect him to be on call 24/7, and what if he wants to take a vacation!

I'm glad that you and rick have both talked to dunk and sorearms on the phone, I'd say if they want to come back, let them come back. If they don't want to be a part of the community, then that is ok too, but both of those posters are regular contributors that myself and others enjoy quite a bit.

IMHO, when you pay for a service you pay for a service. If you decide that you don't like that service then walk away like a man and leave it be. If the service doesn't provide the terms agreed upon then you have room to bitch and or ask for a refund. As with any service EF has it's ups and downs dependant on the populace at large. Any "geighness" is going to have a direct correlation to the populae majorae. So it isn't that EF has taken a turn for the "geigh" as an inanimate object it cannot reflect any sort of inherent emotional to adjective behavior. Therefore it is the population of posters that have taken a turn for the "geigh". Setting that aside for the time being it is divisable to look in turn at the stylistic differences in the modal majority from inception of these issues to the now. How as a society have we changed that much in these few months since Dunk's lifetime plat purchase and the present? I for one see this as just one of many cycles inherent in any society. Growth, inflation, decadence, and death are the main components of this cycle. We have grown greatly since inception. The number of priveledged people has inflated. This upper eschelon of the society has grown lazy and decadent expecting to be entertained without providing incenctive. Thus the society has experienced and existential death. Now the cycle will repeat (thus the term cycle instead of lifespan).

Paying for a lifetime membership for anything is a gamble that the group will improve for you over time. There is always a chance that it won't or that the views you held that made you interested in the group have changed so that the same thing that made you want to be a part of it makes you not want to be a part of it. As with any gamble one should never bet more than they are completely comfortable walking away from.

To sum up as my mother frequently says "You pays your money and you takes your chances"

And I vote that the Karma goes into a raffle format or an auction.

In my opinion, as long as a person is a "paying customer" they have the right to say whatever they want, unfortunatly in this case it has led to a negative result for George. The funny thing is that look at the threads looking for Dunk, and all those people saying that they want him back. The issues that have been created by Dunk have become a form of entertainment to many people on these boards.
Unlike the bodybuilding forums that are offered here, the C&C is nothing more than a person to enter the Karma war and to create controversy. Lately there is little a person can gain except a way to waste time when bored. On the contrary there are many forums here that have helped individuals in their times of need, as well as just giving some basic advice. For that reason they are indespinsible.
A forum like the C&C is an outlet for people to be assholes, and Dunk just happened to be the biggest one on here. (some people will argue that) In my opinion he got what he deserved, but he should also be refunded whatever dues are remaining... after all, he was paying for the ability to be a dick and that has been taken away from him.

I have no personal problems with Dunk, but I agree with MM. If you make an exception for one person, it will backlash on you.
