Hey all. I have to have 2 certified personal trainers answer a series of questions(approx. 10) for a class that i am taking. If any of you are please contact me or reply to this post. Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated!

5) What types of clients do you prefer to work with? Why?
6) How do you reduce liability?
7) What is your client evaluation process?

It sounds like your going thru a certification yourself? no?
You could search, or just read thru this section, I believe your not the first ( or will be the last) to post these questions...

I'll try to get the ball rolling for you:
General Information

• Environment in which you work? gym, home, beach, park, online and a university.
• Are you the business owner? yes

Interview Questions

1) What advice would you give a person who is now establishing a personal training business? learn your sheit, and learn to sell.
2) What is the most rewarding aspect of your job? helping people to accomplish their goals
3) What is the least favorite aspect of your job? people who complain
4) What would you change about your job if you could? Why? nothing
5) What types of clients do you prefer to work with? Why? athletes, because most are driven and focused
6) How do you reduce liability? cover your ALL bases ( in a nutshell)
7) What is your client evaluation process? too long for me to answer.

There was an almost identical post with these exact questions once before on this board. I know, I filled it out.

General Information

• Years In the Industry? 3
• Certifying Organization? NSCA (CPT & CSCS) Also, does college degree count? BS in Exercise Science from Ole Miss.
• Environment in which you work? (gym, home, corporate, etc…) Mainly gym, though I will train outside it if the client wishes me to.
• Are you the business owner, partner, independent contractor or employee? I own a small gym and train out of there when I'm not the "floor" employee.

Interview Questions

1) What advice would you give a person who is now establishing a personal training business? Know your stuff backwards & forwards. Develop people and speaking skills.
2) What is the most rewarding aspect of your job? Helping someone achieve their health and fitness goals.
3) What is the least favorite aspect of your job? Lazy people that think I can snap my fingers and make everything like they want it, instead of them having to work.
4) What would you change about your job if you could? Why? About my job? Nothing. About the industry? Find a way to get rid of the $50 online PT certs.
5) What types of clients do you prefer to work with? Why? Same as above. Athletes. They usually work the hardest.
6) How do you reduce liability? Know your stuff. Have a set system of working with a new client. I use the ACSM's client risk guidelines. And, make sure that you ALWAYS fully explain everything. All you can do, is do your best, and you USUALLY can't be faulted.
7) What is your client evaluation process?Too long to explain.
