bear with me guys,i started my friend weight training 13 months ago, he has scince more than doubled his strength, and you can see results on his phisique. problem is,i put him on 3xs a week:bench, squat, row, press, curls. after his initial strength jump, been 6 months now, he is stuck on every one of his top weights.he does 5sets x 10 reps per exersize, i told him to lower his reps, increase weights, but being stubborn, he keeps trying to get that 10 reps out keeps getting stuck at 7-8, i assume he is using proper form, as i keep telling him to. he is 50yrs old, about 150lbs. his diet is good he can shovel it down. he is very ectomorphic, any advise for him to increase his strength? or maybe he just plateued? if i missed anything, let me know, and thanks guys!

You don't need advice on what to do next as far as exercise is concerned. You need advice on how to get through to your stubborn friend; and that I know nothing about. For now you can try to have him reramp the weights back to maybe 3-4 weeks ago while swapping in some new exercises. (ex. chins instead of rows, overhead press, dips)

He needs to re-ramp the weights and drop the reps to 5's, generally a rep range where just about anybody can progress week to week with in beginner and intermediate stages. Even if he is hell-bent on 10's thats fine, but he definitely needs to take some weight off and re-ramp, that's correct training. Like blitz44 said, it isn't training or form advice he needs.
