Please accept my apologies for the behavior of one of our former members -- M.O.D

As I understand, he hacked into the Moderator's Forum, impersonated moderators, deleted your threads, and locked your threads. All with the intent of disrupting the Elite Boards and harming the reputations of certain moderators. We have blocked his access to the site.

I hope that any member who may have had posted messages locked or deleted inappropriately, will accept my sincere apologies. It took us a while to learn what had happened, but rest assured, we are making all efforts to prevent the abuse of your conversations in the future.

Its ashame a guy with good knowledge would stoop to it but it is true, the mods have known it for a week or so.

As for private messaging - be carefull of what you say in them they arent encrypted and although one would need extensive hacking skills to read them, Im sure its not too hard - so take all the private talk to email fellas.

if he did supposedly hack in as a moderator, how is it possible to know his motives for doing so? even if he did hack into an account, which i do not believe, i dont think he would have done the things he is said to have done.
 
MP5, my brother, I totally agree, TO A POINT...

None of us should ever say anything inherently incriminating, since it's very easy to obtain records of e-mails, conversations, etc.

And as far as George goes, I have never had any problems with him, or his business. He literally "takes care" of a lot of people on here, and don't get any stupid fucking ideas about drugs or the like...I mean he goes out of his way to help people. He answers e-mails very promptly, and keeps customers very happy.

So, as far as "who to trust," I'm sorry, M.O.D, but in this case, the benefit of the doubt goes to Mr. Spellwin--a stand-up guy IMO.

Remember that this SITE and the links on it are A BUSINESS...I think many people think it's just "here!"

the PM messaging has been gone over time and time again - noone ever said they were secure which is why we all say go to emails with private talk - the elite mail uses hushmail its like hushmail being ported with the Elite fitness name and ads on top so they are safe - if you click somewhere in the elite mail to login you will see it takes you back to the hushmail homepage, although its kind of a bug you can see elite is just adding the @elitefitness instead of hush and that hush is whats powering it. But PM's were never said to be encrypted and myself as well as others have been saying this since it was developed here.

The point is if you were a fed would you browse through the millions of yahoo and hotmail accounts looking for drug activity, or go through the email based on a website that is know to harbor illegal drug usage? I am not accusing George, but how do we even know he is not sitting behind a desk in NY wearing his DEA jacket scrolling through emails?

Meaning Hush sets up a mail server that run's their technology and gives it the domain name the subscriber wants.

And the way I understand it, Hush puts it in the some data center their servers are in.

But the Blowfish algorithm, while just as strong as any other shared key algorithm is quiet buggy. And in fact, the RNG has been found on more than one occasion to be predictable.

You guys need some mods who know a wee bit about this technology, or this kind of shit will happen time and again.

lol uh I guess you got a point however if I want to chase some paranoia theories I got my hands full right now with all this terror shit going on..

Ill play a round or two though.. as I understand it:
hush servers are located in ireland - If the dea or whoever wanted access they would have to go to ireland, hush exists only b/c its secure and private if it was not either one of those they wouldn't have a future b/c its such a pain in the ass and so slow to use. The majority of people that use hush do not use it for illegal use (contrary to most people that use it hear) but rather for keeping private talks private.

Im in no way an expert at any of this stuff, all I know is dont trust anyone, dont be stupid and say something that will come back to bite you, and use pgp often. mi dos pesos

Maybe the fact that the email server uses encryption and is not located in the USA.

if MOD was impersonating other mods, then that is a good thing. why would he be banned for that? he probably did the job better than half the real mods on here.

how could he have deleted threads? in my poll, sop2 stated that mods DO NOT have the ability to delete threads. MOD was not the kind of bro that would do these things. if he did hack into a mod account then i believe that there would have been a better chance that he would have unlocked a thread then lock one. i talk to MOD regularly through pm and normal email and i do not believe that he would disrupt the board.

However the entity is being used in the U.S., therefore evoking U.S. law. IF there is a U.S. law on the book that allows your right to privacy to be broken, I would believe suspicion of possession or intent to distribute would be enough to break into your account. Being a member of the this board would allow the courts to see that argument valid.

You guys did not know this dumb red neck could think did you. hahaha! I'm just a paranoid freak.

His activities were tracked, along with another persons who for some reason is still here, perhaps innocent? Who knows.

George- Did you actually ban his server or just his handle?

He came back under a new handle and had some rather disparaging things to say about George. I think initially, they just cut off his handle. But that might have changed by now.

again, it is not registering with you. every fuckin mod has sworn that they do not have the ability to ban members.

those instances with may and smalls were around the same time that bouncer and sexual mustard were having problems with their accounts and efchris did mention that it was strictly an admin problem.
 
Blowfish 1024b lasts a bit less than one second on a standard ASIC federal machine.

And yes, being off-shore helps, but since you are a US corporation, you can still be held in obstruction of justice for refusing to reliquish access if served a warrant.

I just don't get who that was? True there are people that have been on this board for a year or more and are not mods, but I do not make the calls. It just agrivates me when people who have been here for a few months complain about not being a mod. I am not insinuating anything to you, just making a comment :)

With all due respect, do you know what is going on? 2 Members of this board hacked in and were deleting and locking threads at their leisure - not board moderators but reg. users hacking in and getting real moderator passwords. There is no reason for any modererator on this board to be cleaned - its those hacking accounts that are being and should be banned.

George Spellwin posted it himself, and said the administrator by the name of Leo found it out. This was on the mods board.
 
so if we had hackers, isn't it possible to hack the site with someone elses name/adress? Winny is against deleting and locking shit, i don't buy it. I think they have to look into it more than.

well what you were told was wrong man. it is pretty unprofessional to announce that i was hacking into the mod forum, i believe if george had evidence that i did then he would ban me. we my have issues with each other but to come out and tell the board that i am doing things that i am really not is pretty bullshit. if you were a source, you wouldnt appreciate me posting that you were a scammer if you werent, would you? there is a parallel.

by quoting me on your post and then mentioning this 'another persons' you were basically insinuating that i was that other person. plus, the thread you posted asking me and MOD to email you was also a connection to this 'another persons'. we both know that you were talking to me in your post, you left it to directional as to who were talking about.

Why was MOD banned exactly? I never crossed paths with him, actually, I never spoke to him directly in any of my posts nor by PM. But from what I have seen, he seemed to be a respected bro' not only on the chat board, but on the Anabolic board as well.

Was he fucking around on the anabolic board? I doubt it.

He seemed like, actually he was, and is, the type of person who you want to have on your boards. He was one of the bro's, he wasnt afraid to state his opinions on matters. He didnt ever go out of his way to piss people off either as far as I know.

Now look at a RyanH for example. Is he respected? IMO, he isnt. No flame to ryan, but why wasnt MOD made a moderator before ryan. He obviousley would have been a better mod than Ryan, who doesnt contribute on the anabolic or training boards, and Jen BFL chick, whose moderatorship still makes very little sense to me. MONSTAR123, I wont go there. Im not flaming the mods, but It is obvious that some of the mod choices, or lack there of, havent exactly been good for the chat board. RyanH and Shrebly are far less respected than MOD was.

I dont understand? How do you guys know who will make a good mod? Can you remove one after he/she has proven themselves incapable?

I jus think the board will be better off with less mods. THe members seem to agree on that as well.

You say MOD hacked somones password? Well why is somone who is incopitent enough to have their password "ABC123XYZ" a mod in the first place? Makes you wonder...

And I thought that mods couldnt ban people? Did I miss something here?

As long as racial slurs are allowed, the board isn't Nazi IMO. Long live racial slurs. That is one of the reasons I like this board.
