Here's the deal. I got my blood drawn on 3/7/03 for a full analysis. It took 10 days and I started freeking out. I called them and asked if everything was ok. They said yes. I asked about HIV part of it and they said its ok. I got the physical copy of my test back and it says HIV Status: Not tested. WTF I called them and asked them what was up. They said that my white blood cel count and everything thing else looked perfect so they are telling me I don't have HIV (at least this is the way I understand it) Does this make since. I haven't had a test for HIV in years. The only sexual encounter I could have had possibly exposing me would've been 2-3 years ago. Would my white bloodcell count and everything else play into this. Doesn't seem legal what they did to me........white bloodcell count was4.5, normal is 3.8-10.8 THOUS/MCL (according to them)Red bloodcell 4.78, normal 4.2-5.10 MILL/MCL..I haven't been sick for years except food poisoning. Should I go do an HIV test only and/or relax and trust in doc. This was a test for the my insurance and because I am trying to get a deca and test therapy... Please help!!!!!!

Well if you asked your doctor directly about the HIV and he/she said you are fine then there appears to be no reason to worry.

Why don't you phone them and ask them why the test says HIV not tested. If they explain that they can tell from your other readings, then everything seems fine.

I am not a doctor so I can't appraise your results. Why don't you post this on the anabolics discussion board. There are quite a few doctors on that board who may be able to help you out.

Best of luck.

Actually, your doctor can not definitively say that you are NOT HIV positive from your blood tests. It is only an indication from the blood test results and he/she would record it as his/her "impression" that you are HIV negative.

Progression with HIV differs widely between people. I know of cases where a person contracted it and was dead in less than one year. I also know some long term "non progressors" that have a viral load below the level of detection of the viral load tests but carry the virus nonetheless. All of their other blood numbers look "normal" so there is no obvious indication that they are hiv positive. Some people may take 20 years to progress to full blown AIDS without treatment. Others progress in very short order--in months or a few years. I know of people that still have "normal" blood test results with a low viral load and therefore presumably slow disease progression and have been this way for many years. So the only way to be certain is to have an HIV blood test performed and back it up with the western blot test for confirmation against a false positive or false negative initial screening result.

So I hope this helps.
