Here is an MD900 I did some stress work on for the Belgium Police. This thing is chock full of goodies!

So much for European freedom!

Anyway, it is a really cool helicopter.

Chesty, did you ever take a class in Rotorcraft Aerodynamics or do you just basically learn that info on the job?

No, it does not require much math except in school. No, I did not take a rotor aerodynamics course. But part of my major is aerodynamics, sub-sonic, transonic and super sonic.

Yes, I am an engineer BS Aerospace Engineering with minors in Math and Physics. And I make more mistakes than a 2 year old with a spoon!

What are you designing? Do you do a lot of vibrational analysis and strength of materials stuff? Do you get your hands dirty or do you do mostly CAD or finite elements work?

Chesty, that is some pretty slick shit you are working on.

Can you give me more details about the engineering aspects of your work for a fellow engineer.

Thanks

The Doc

Don't announce that you're an engineer, you've got to play it cool like me.:fro:

When nobody knows, they won't picture you with a pocket protector and bad posture. They see me as a real laid back ladies man here and I'm not about to bust that bubble. That could be you too!:D

Too late they already know, but they have seen my pic and know I am not a nerd.

I am a stress engineer. I don't do vibrational analysis, have done some modal/dynamic stuff. Mostlly static analysis using finite element and classical analysis (hand calc's) I do get dirty. I have been on, in or around most of what I work on. And I am starting to write test plans as well. Hopefully will be a DER someday.

What specifics do you want to know Dr. E?
