definitely not a dumb question.

http://www.nastrongman.com/ is a good place to start. I think just talking to locals and on discussion boards is where I hear about them the most. there should be a local strongman "chapter" around you as well.

To the BEST of my knowledge...Brad Pitt from MO is not a Pro Strongman. He holds the record for the light weight AM class in the log press for reps though I believe.
