Pics: Stronger Than All strongman comp 3.19.05

Stronger Than All strongman comp was today in New Haven, CT. It turned out to be pretty big (national comp, not local) and had a big field. Had a fantastic time. CJ Murphy from TPS was the MC and did a great job. Here's some pics:

The venue was indoors and very big, well kept:

Local bench press champ Vinny Dizenzo (http://geocities.com/vincentdizenzo/) had a bench seminar before the comp. I thought it was invaluable. He is pretty well spoken and had insights into technique that I never knew even existed. Can't wait to try out some of his tips.

There were a ton of good sponsors with booths and product there, including Ironmind, TPS, Critical Bench, the Diesel crew, MHP, HOP and APT.

The Diesel crew's set up of grip tools:

Smitty doing some crazy grip stunt (so glad I got to see these guys in person finally!):

First event - Zercher Carry for 150 ft.:

Second event - Axle clean and press:

Before the event pro strongman Brad somethingorother did a one-handed snatch with the 2-inch Axle!

EF's very own Lord Suston:

The axles (with Murphy in the background):

Next was the 18" DL:

This guy reminded me of Crak, but strong.

Suston DLing 725 (at 198lb), which was more than 95% of the heavyweights did! (J-you are a crazy, cocky, strong, funyn dude - I love it!):

Medley (keg load and carry):

I only took this picture cause the girl on the left was very cute and Italian looking and competing and had a GREAT ass and I love her:

And goodies:

What was the weight on the zercher carry? I'd been all over that.

it was all over the place depending on division. most were in the high 300's or low 400's I think. It's a whole other world compared to the normal Yoke Walk - a lot tougher IMO

Post the wts lifted.

I honestly do not know. It was tough to hear the mic and there were three different waves going at once at all times. The Zercher was around 400 for the heavy weights. Suston won his class (by far) with the 725 DL and I think the heavyweights' best DL was 755ish. Not sure about the Axle clean and press.

Is there another way to go from the thumbnails to the full size pics without manually editing out the ".th" from the address bar?

your question would have more weight if this thread weren't in C&C.

besides, my back hurts. for the last 12 months.

already copied it to weight training and sticky'd it on strongman about and hour ago. douche bags

whoa, i didn't notice...lord suston was there? that dl is diesel (yes, i said diesel).

he must be doing something right since that darma ef split (unless he still posts in the training forum).

well, he has always been on point with his strongman training and competition lifting. I see him post rarely, but not often. yeah, he is about 198 and maybe 5'7" and destroyed most of the heavyweights with that lift.

I assumed everyone could click on the thumbnail? is this wrong? wtf man. I went thru the trouble of not posting as an attachment cause I wanted non-plats to see too and now that's shot to shit? This fucking Internet thing is a sham.

That's why I do a lot of zercher squats.

awesome. I wish that more contests were around here, especially St. Louis. The last one I got to see was last year with B-fold competing. Good job reporting
