Some people do,i usually will get 30 good shots but then i'll hit nerves the next 5-10 but that's just me,some people never do but i also know guy's that hit them every time so they just gave up on quads,it sure does make you twitch though.

Quads are the best for me by far. I have 30 inch Quads, so I have no pain at all in that area... the key is to hit the side of you quad, not the top. Find your hip bone and take a hands lenght down, No Pain There.

I'm with Macro it's common. Quads are the easiest once you figure out where the sweetspots are.

If you do quads pokes often--you WILL eventually hit a nerve.It happened to me last week and it will make you flinch.Try to aim at the outer upper area of the quad----less major nerves in that area.

Def. I've hit nerves before and as long as you remain calm, it's no biggie. Still, quads are my favorite.

Also you can use a smaller needle in the quad,

eg 25 g by 1 inch, in the glute, I need 23 or 21 g and 1.5 inches.
