perfect low carb meal

well all get tired of eating chicken, turkey and tuna day after day....

well last time I cut up with low carb I was always making taco meat
which tasted awesome and was a great meal.

However I went out last night to buy the taco seasoning... and it
had 14 grams of carbs, only 4 sugar per package... thats enough for
1 lb of ground turkey.

The last time I bought it it had 4 grams of carbs for the whole package,
I just don't remember what brand I bought.. does anyone eat this on
low carb and what low carb seasoning are you using?
 
Make Your Own -

3/4 C. dried minced onion
1/4 C. salt
1/4 C. chili powder
1 T. dried oregano
2 T. cornstarch
2 T. crushed dried peppers
2 T. dried minced garlic
2 T. ground cumin

Mix ingredients together to blend. Store in a pint jar.
Yield: almost 2 cups


- Corn Starch is the major source of carbs - 4gm per tablespoon

60 Calories
1 gram Protein
14 grams Carbohydrates
0 Fat
0 Cholesterol
10 mg Sodium
200 mg Potassium
11.9 mg Vitamin C (20% of USRDA)


SO... use less onion and corn starch...:p

another recipie

Taco Seasoning

6 tsp chili powder
5 tsp paprika
4 1/2 tsp cumin
2 1/2 tsp onion powder
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper

Combine all ingredients in a jar with a tight fitting lid. Mix
well shaking. Store in a cool dry place for up to 6 months. Makes
about 21 teaspoons (about 1/2 cup ). 7 teaspoons equal a 1.25 oz
pkg. of purchased taco seasoning.
