I have been logging daily into fitday, but not really sure what i should be aiming for as far as numbers.
I think i'm fairly insulin resistant so i want to keep the carbs a little lower than others, but not too low since i'm working out .

I know what you mean, speaking of the carbs. I keep them lower than most too. Just find what works for you and go with it. The 40-30-30 IS a GREAT place to start!
