I had a shitload of fun in the Greek system, its all about what you make out of it. Its not for everyone but there are sooo many perks to being in a frat. And the social events with all of the sorority girls and the bars and the live-out parties and the alumni that come back for the games, they can set you up with a career if you work it right. Of course, if you are Poindexter you prolly wont like it as much. I mean people like stereotype the Frats, but every house is different, every university is different, every frigging house member is different with different backgrounds, people just get jealous I think of all the fun they have

Frat life isn't all about getting drunk and laid these days, although that remains a primary goal. Plenty of time is spent doing volunteer work in the local community. Food drives, big brother/big sister work, building playgrounds, and helping clean up after natural disasters are as much a part of being in a frat as the weekend parties. Colleges are getting strict about what the greeks can and cannot do. They want the greeks to be involved not only in the community but also on campus.
If you're good boys during the week, on the weekend they'll (security) likely look the other way.

I went to a frat party at auburn university last fall
bear in mind I'm 42
the GF was 26 and had graduated a couple years before
what a blast from the past
difference being that the pledges were all sober and wore tags proclaiming them as "designated drivers" or something to that effect
otherwise it was like the good ole days
live band and girls and beer
got to check out the different dude's rooms
it was always cool to see how someone would customize and personlize their little domicile
I had a bottle of generic viagra's in the car and was passing them out free
I was pretty popular

There is this 40-ish year old guy I used to see at parties all the time, he thought he was hot shit, didn't realize he was around as a novelty item. Would roll his sleeves up on his army t-shirt and whatnot. I used to see him at my gym, what a fuckin' tool.
