Pay Pal Sucks

BigRupe

New member
Well folks many of you know about my Ebay issue and how I got scammed well the ever benevolent PayPal has ruled in my favor and I received this email. As you can see I still lost nearly $5600.00.

My bank is fighting with PayPal now and I should recover my money. Bottom line PayPal is not a safe way to do business. Every time you use them you are rolling the dice.

Dear Steven Rupert,

After careful review, this claim has been decided in your favor and $175.00USD has been credited to your account.

This is the maximum amount covered by PayPal. If your claim was for more than the amount recovered, the outstanding balance is due from the seller and we will make our best effort to recover it for you.

Did you not buy the insurance on this purchase for $5600 dollars?

Not sure what you mean but there is no "insurance" in which you are guaranteed a refund. I did get the "shipping" insurance.

Trust me my friend PayPal does not cover you UNLESS the seller has an escrow account with PayPal

What the hell does that mean?? Trust me if you think I'm letting some piece of shit low life rip me off for $5800 your crazy.

I will get my money back.

I've actually contacted another guy they ripped off he lives in Hawaii we both contacted the local police in Jacksonville and I am driving down there Monday (7 hour drive from me) with two friends and I am going to get my camera or my money or pay-back

Yes there is...

It's called the buyer protection program

http://pages.ebay.com/help/tp/questions/protection-program.html

then you file a complain within 45 days here
https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_protections-buyer-outside
http://pages.ebay.com/help/tp/isgw-buyer-protection-steps.html
http://www.ic3.gov/
http://www.usps.com/websites/depart/inspect/

then they are attacked from multiple fronts.

Never had an issue in 7 years using them so far.

I hope you get your money back but 5600 on an internet transaction you should have been much more smart about it before.

I didn't receive an item I paid for. Does eBay offer insurance?

eBay does not offer an insurance program. However, both eBay and PayPal offer members comprehensive programs that provide protection against loss from non-delivery or misrepresentation for most purchases.

PayPal Buyer Protection
This program provides enhanced coverage up to $1,000 with no processing fee on qualifying items when you pay with PayPal.
To check if an item qualifies for this program, look for the following image in the "seller information" section of the listing, and click "See eligibility."

Please review the eligibility requirements and learn more about the program.

Note: Your PayPal claim must be filed within 30 days from the date of payment.

eBay’s Standard Purchase Protection
Most other items are covered up to $200 (minus a $25 processing fee) with eBay's standard purchase protection program. Please review eBay’s Standard Purchase Protection eligibility requirements.

Before you file a claim through this program, eBay encourages you to:
Contact the seller (most issues can be resolved with a single phone call), or use a free online dispute resolution service like SquareTrade.
Contact PayPal directly if you paid for your item with your credit card using PayPal.
Contact your credit card company if you purchased the item outside of PayPal with a credit card. Most companies provide 100% online protection.

DID YOU USE THERE BUYERS INSURANCE ???? THEY HAVE GOTTEN $ BACK TO BE BE4 ???

Dude , face it
You got screwed because you did not use the resources available from PayPal's site.

If you would have filed the complaints necessary from
1. ebay
2. paypal
3. the IC3
4. the postal service if possible mail fraud is involed

You would have recovered your cash...
You did not and hence got what paypal offers...

This is your fault for not reading the terms of service before making the purchase

i just hope he gets his money back .one thing for sure that paly pal cant get back is online services ,i got fucked on 50$ its not 5600 ,but pay pal does not cover online services .its to hard to prove you did or did not get it :( .if you are going down there i would love to see the guyz face when he comes to the door (just dont get shot) good luck

That sucks to lose that much $$$. If you used a credit card your bank should be able to get your money back and you shouldn't have to make payments on that part of your balance while it is being investigated. It might take a while but they should be successful.

I don't know what you mean. Have you ever bought anything from Ebay?? I did EVERYTHING according to PayPal and Ebay I made an offer for the item, I paid via paypal, and then after nor recieving it I filed my complaint, but PayPal makes you wait 30 days and by then the thieves had stolen my money.

As you can see I DID file a complaint and it was ruled in my favor. I won.

Ebay will not refund your money and IC3 doesn't repay you.

When you pay for something via PayPal there is no option to cover your ass. You just click and hope the seller has integrity and doesn't screw you.

Read what PayPal sent me "After careful review, this claim has been decided in your favor and $175.00USD has been credited to your account.

So what did I do wrong??? NOTHING!!!

In any event I am still doing all I can to see he gets prosecuted.

BTW thanks for the K bro' I appreciate it.

sucks to hear that, I am surprised
My dad has been using PayPal since they came out. We have had some mishaps with well over $1,000. Both EBay and PayPal made it right, with no questions asked.

I don't wanna waste anymore of my time. I have had them recover alot more then $175 in my favor when I have used the resources on thier site as they suggest.

You got screwed because you made mistakes and it's just that simple

1. Ebay will close thier account and stop them from making sales
2. Paypal will recover the amount in the buyer protection program which is more then $175.00 and thier account will be frozen
3. Ic3 is the police and they will be attacked by the authorities. The police can have them fined and/or audited in order to recover your funds
4. The USPS or Fedex can investigate mail fraud and have the attacker investigated further. Mail Fraud can have them jailed.

You did not use the resources and you also are not being complete in your explanation as to what happened because I think it would expose your mistakes.

Have a good day.
