August 30 is Dev's 1st b-day party. Most everyone will be adults. I figured I would go with an easy southern party menu. What do y'all think:

Pulled Pork shoulder BBQ sandwiches w/ coleslaw
Deviled Eggs
Corn Fritters
Crudite w/ benedictine dip
Fresh corn on the cob

Derby Pie
Kentucky Pie
Cherry Pie

Elmo Cake (lol)
Ice cream

i love pulled pork sammiches. it is a bit of a tribute to my mom who died in 05 and didn't get to meet devin. Pulled pork was definitely one of her favorite meals

Oh, i see. I like to have some finger foods and thought that would fit in the menu theme okay. My brother loves mini-quiches. maybe I will serve those.

derby pie is sort of like a pecan pie with chocolate too.

kentucky pie is sort of like a brownie/molten lava cake inside a pie crust (very gooey and VERY chocolat-y

Thanks. When I have a big mexican party you and lil d can come. All kinds of games for kids. You know us mexicans have lots of kids so there be plenty of kids for him to play with. LOL!!!

I spend plenty of time 'Down south' but my menu differs from yours quite abit. Usually a landing strip burger with a side of thighs. :p

crudite with benedictine dip = raw baby carrots/pea pods/etc with cucumber and dill dip

derby pie = sort of a chocolate pecan pie

kentucky pie = sort of like a gooey brownie in a pie crust with nuts.

I'd guess the person in charge of pulling the pork isn't the same one that gets to cut the meat if you had beef...
