I make these and have them every so often, use the sugar free syrup, it's actually really good. The syrup only has like 5 cals I think per serving.

thx

it whould be nice if there was a local shop that selled low carb stuff damn GNC stores:(

If you are in the US just go to your grocery store and get cozy cottage sugar free syrup - It is made w/ splenda and only has 10 cals / quarter cup. ***It might be in the diabetic/health food section of you store instead of w/ the regular syrup (I have seen it both places @ diff stores)

ok so about the regular pancakes? haha

As far as the original question I'm not sure why he would think they are a good source for carbing up? Maybe he was craving them and it was his carb up day? Nothing in them that's special.. You could get the same carbs from a lot of other junk food too.

He actually ate them on the morning of the Olympia (or so says the article)...

...it also goes on to say that Cormier realized it was a huge mistake to eat the pancakes....he said that he was mentally distracted and would not have eaten them otherwise.

So that's why he did poorly at the Olympia!! Pancakes!!

oh well ,but atleast he enjoyed the pancakes:)

and that proves to show that cheat meals are essential and dieting hardcore can make u crazy:)

Sounds yummy, do you think I could make them with a diet shake instead of protein Poweder?

for the female bodybuilder, you can make those pancakes using
5 egg whites and 1 whole egg
1/2 cup oats
lots of cinnimon or other flavor you like
packet of equal or sweet and low brown sugar.
I make them the day before, the eggs soak up the oats and makes them thicker when you cook them.
If you have tupper ware containers you can make multiply batches and have them handy, the longer they sit the thicker they get.
if you can find spring tree sugar free syrup its awesome
put whatever else you like in the mix, nuts, raisins, etc.
on show day I use these, but I put choc. chips and nuts in them, good for a snack or meal after your pre-judge is done.
I have also just nuked the mix at 2 min 10 sec when in a hurry.
If I use the protein powder in the mix I leave out the egg yolk, thats if you are counting your calories.
:)

no no not against atkins,i used that atkins flavoring syrup once but it was expensive ,i just think his products are overated:/:) can get half the stuff he trys to endorse but cheaper:)

Many bodybuilders do this the morning of the show including myself. The reason for this is pancakes are a very high glycemic carb which means they get into your system quickly therefore filling you out quickly. some pros eat cheesburgers birthday cake and all kinds of crap to help fill them out the morning of or the night before the show. the only thing to worry about is the potential to spill over meaning water spilling out of the muscle and giving a blurry definition look or soft look. Lee Haney starts eating pancake with butter and syrup on wed before the show on sat.

rippazoid so when i carb up each week during cutting, should i try to get most carbs from high gi sources?
