package delivery!?!?!?

I wouldn't touch USPS right now for deliveries. Maybe because I live near a bunch of post offices that have been shut down due to the anthrax cases I am more sensitive to it, but right now alot of the USPS mail is undergoing extra scrutiny and experiencing signficant delays. In Washington, DC there are people who have not gotten their mail for over a week now.

So for now I'd suggest FedEx on UPS until all of the anthrax cases and investigations die down.

see now that was a major concern of mine.. but you can't use fed ex or ups with po boxes. Plus doesn't fed ex z-ray.. i think ups maybe ok because it is just way to busy to throughly check..

I don't think FedEx is checking things that carefully. If they do X-Ray a box they'd be looking for metal objects, not gear. Plus, with their delivery time requirements there is no time to do much screening of packages.

cool.. i was told i couldn't use fed ex or ups for po boxes because they need signatures.. but if you say i can then i will go with fed ex, although their office is a pain in the ass..

No way use FedEx.

This is the most frequently monitored service because it was discoverd a couple years ago the Columbian's were using Fedex to run a huge cocaine ring. Fedex was really embarassed by the situation and lost alot of $$$$.
International Priority if you can, or Priority if domestic.

Someone at the post office signs when they put it in your box or when they put a slip in your box telling you that there is a package. Same with deliveries to boxes to Mailbox Etc. You might have to sign something indicating you picked up the package, but that is so there is a record of you picking up the package in case there is a dispute of you saying a package arrived that you never got.

USPS priority or UPS ground is always a safe bet. NJ is is taking forever to get packages through to now.

USPS priority WAS a good delivery method, but I have a good friend who works for the USPS who was telling me last night about all the different ways they are scrutinizing mail right now. They are even trucking anything questionable from DC to Ohio to be eradicated and then back to DC again for delivery. Once this anthrax issue goes away I am sure USPS priority will be good again, but I'd shy away from it right now.

Overweight has a good point. It is risky right now and I don't think it matters what service you use. Within the past three weeks I personally have received express, priority and regular postal mail domestically without a problem. I think you are a little safer if you order packages that don't have a chance of being processed in the DC area. Even other post offices that are on a higher alert compared to most should be avoided if at all possible. Still domestic should be ok for now. Oh yeah I got a fedex delivery the other day as well.

i have being using usps domestically to florida, ct not dc yet.. i will remember to stay away from there
so so far so good i guess.. i will just package extra carefully
