Oxycalm.......my new favorite supp

Oxytocin is a hormone (produced in the hypothalamus) that was discovered in the early 1900 by Sir Henry H. Dale. In medicine oxytocin is mainly known for speeding up the birthing process and promoting the expulsion of breast milk. But: oxytocin has more physiological roles than previously recognized.

What does speeding up the birthing process and expulsion of breast milk mean?

should oxytocin be cycled or can it be taken indefinitely? I just ordered some.... won't be "on" for a few months, so is it ok to take the oxy now right though that point when I'll be starting?

I haven't cycled it in 3 months. It just as effective today as the week I started. I would suggest you start it now. It's fun. :)

I've been using it most everyday for 7 months and, if anything, its better now than when I first started. Some days, like on the weekend, I may not use any just because. The beauty is there is no withdrawl or hangover effect.

have there been any negative side effects so far? they were talking about oxytocin on the radio here this morning and saying how it makes even men lactate... any truth to that? what's the worse that we could experience with oxycalm?

No, no negative side effects reported. I would like to see where that data came from because it's not in any of the medical literature. It doesn't even make women lactate unless they are pregnant and even then large doses need to be injected.

This is what I found on some website when doing a search on oxytocin - in fact, most websites report the same thing, with the one common factor that oxytocin stimulate the mammary glands, meaning for women... I haven't seen anything regarding this phenomenom for men
-----------------

Stimulation of milk ejection (milk letdown): Milk is initially secreted into small sacs within the mammary gland called alveoli, from which it must be ejected for consumption or harvesting. Mammary alveoli are surrounded by smooth muscle (myoepithelial) cells which are a prominant target cell for oxytocin. Oxytocin stimulates contraction of myoepithelial cells, causing milk to be ejected into the ducts and cisterns.

oxytocin stimulates uterine contractions to speed up birthing process. as stated it also stimulates milk production in femals.

hope this helps
