Had a great leg day workout. I really like working hamstrings. Today was prone ham curls ... 4 X 12 with 50, 75, 100, 75. Was impressed by Argentina Racca pro wrestler when I was teen. He had terrific hams and could really use his legs.
Warmed up with the bike and stretching. No problem with the sets. Stretched after ... nice and relaxed.
One hour later I am sitting in my chair at this site and I feel the right hammy begin to cramp like some kind of giant claw has grabbed me!
I stretch the leg out fast and start breathing slow and steady like Lamaze ... and it keeps getting worse. I'm trapped and have to wait it out. And it HURTS.
I'm trying to relax and breath and keep the muscle stretched out. After about 2-3 sweaty minutes, it lets up. I get up quick and head for the ice bags.
Big glass of water and 30 minutes of light icing and I'm OK. But that hammy feels like it was shot. WOW!
Creatine cramp? Lots of guys get this cramp from it.
Dehydration? I drink plenty of fluids, but maybe not enough before the workout.
This ice bag and I are going to be friends for the rest of the day.
