I firmly believe you cant overtrain while ON...

Well it's alot harder, thats for sure but I still like to take a day here and there off or sometimes i'll workout two body parts EOD...It's not always about overtraining sometimes it's that I just need a break

i def think you can although i feel like many think u can not...generally i go by how my body feels and hate using an specific workout plan...unless its for a laggin body part...

2 on 1 off is what i usually do on or off...maybe 1 extra set if im on...but its all about my body

I think that depends on what kind of fulltime job you do, If you work a physical job for 40 hrs a week on top of training your ass off, I believe it's very possible, your recuperation time decreases dramatically with a physical job. My opinion is YES. Recuperation time is the KEY, just my 2 cents

On shorter cycles like 10 weeks its a little harder to do. But after about 20 weeks you notice you're starting to get torn up.

yeah...i train pretty fuckin hard while on...what is the max number of days you guys train per week while on...do you guys do 7...if you do...do you double up on some days?

Yes you can, but usually the case is CNS shut down and tendon fatigue rather than too much muscle break down.

good point. from a muscle breakdown point - hell no. from a tendon/cns perspective - absolutely.

Personally, I take 2 days off in a 7-day period regardless of being on or off... usually something like 3days on, 1 off, then 2 days on, 1 off....I just alter my workout sessions accordingly depending on whether I'm on or off.... I'll double up muscle groups while on (e.g. chest & tri's) and some weeks chest & tri's get worked twice....some weeks back & bi's.... etc. When off, I usually train one muscle group per day, but still take 2 days off.... I found out the hard way that I was over-training and therefore not growing....now, I take time off...my workouts are shorter but more intense and I'm growing nicely

u cant train large bodyparts 7 days a week, but you can try 5 days for major bodyparts, and your 2 off days its no problem to hit a smaller muscle group (calves, forearms, abs)...when Im on cycle i rarely take a day completely off and i havent had a problem at all

you can overtrain, but takes balls and dumb mind to do that..........

but as omega said, eat more, lift heavier, get your rest and watch your progress in the mirror..........

train in the low rep range heavier and heavier on each set - especially on all compound lifts.

Then each week cut down the number of reps and weight till you're at 100% your max

see how long you can keep that up for.

You will surely overtrain.

i dont think its a good idea to overtrain regarless on if u are 'on' or not. overtraining will lead to muscle damage and possible injury or strain. the last thing u want it to hurt your self and the next thing u know is that your of that gym for a week! train smart!
