Out of all the religious debates....

I've yet to see a good christian address the fact that the geneology of the bible only dates back roughly 6,000 years. How do you explain this considering that science has traced human existence back almost 60,000 years?
Show me in the Bible where it gives literal exact dates and states that the geneologies given were an exact account (all-inclusive) of everyone that ever lived...

If people want to believe that those geneologies are exact and all-inclusive, and therefore an accurate way to measure the history of mankind... then they are sadly, sadly mistaken.
You don't have to be a biblical scholar to quickly understand that this is a misuse of the way it was interpreted.

I've yet to see a Christian put up a good debate yet. Or any other religious person for that matter. They tend to shut up because there is no logic to their beliefs and they know it.

Most scholars agree that the geneology of the bible dates back roughly 6,000 years. And even if they are a little off, there is a big difference between 6,000 and 60,000. Come on bro, that's a weak argument.

And it's obviously not an exact science, hence the term "roughly". And why would I "show you in the bible" where it says that? The bible is full of contradictions and hypocricies.....utterly useless for proving anything at all. I'm simply pointing out the fact that the bible's history of man doesn't match up with reality.

Where did you get this 60,000 number? Anatomically modern human remains have been found that are considerably older than that. Over 100,000 years at the Klassies River Cave site in South Africa, and I think there's some Ethiopian site dated at 150,000 years.

Don't you know that is Satan's tricks? His job is to deceive all of mankind. LOL

Don't get me wrong krishna I'm on your side of this arguement and have been since I came into EF but I bet there are some people out there that hate you for these kinds of discussions. I can just see it now, you have been 3 days and haven't got into it with any christians and just can't take it anymore. Bam the first one you come across you just slam with all the stats. and anti-faith statements and next you know there is a heated arguement. I think it's funny, am I wrong? Did you get in on that evolution = low self-esteem thread?
