Went to bed with a fever last night, woke up felling better. This afternoon I start feeling feverish again and now I got the runs and my stomach is in a knot. I feel so dehydrated!!!!! I feel the flu coming on. I took some Nyquil earlier and now I have the chills.

this sucks.

water, tons of vit C, just have it every 2 hours

GLUTAMINE! glutamine is awesome for your immune system...when i am sick i take glutamine and vit C every 2 hours

you could even try echanacia or however you spell it

More often than not, you're helpless once sick. Like spatts said, the best you can do is keep your body in as best shape as possible to fight whatever is wrong by providing it with everything it needs.

Virus? No stopping it. Let it ride, let your body do what it needs to do (don't take Immodium AD, etc), and back your immune system up while it's working extra hard to supress it (rest, nutrients, water).

sit in a steam room with a bottle of water, do that for a couple days if you have access to one, or even a suna (SP?)

sweat the shit outta it !!!

Tons of food and rest, taking medicine just hides the symptons and does nothing for the initial sickness. Just rest and eat a lot and healthy.

I agree with this 100%. If I am ever sick, unless it is a very serious case of the flu or something, I always feel better after exerting myself in one way or another. It is tough to lift when you are sick, and depending on how severe the sickness(again) it is sometimes not recommended. However, if we are talking cold here(also works great for hangovers), the best way to get it out of you quick is to take JR's advice and sweat it out! I always feel at least 50% better after a workout when sick, than I might if I just lie on the couch all day, waiting for the shit to run its' course. Try drinking Green Tea as well. That will also help you sweat it out a bit, and the anti-oxidants help as well. I use Nyquil, but only at night to aid with sleep. To me, that shit just slows you down, and allows the virus to linger. For sleep it is great, but during the day, you will want your body hitting on all cylinders, to fight that virus. Taking a medication that limits that will prolong the illness in my opinion.

ok well I also have a cold at this moment and I got it 2 days ago, so yesterday was very very bad where my nose was so clogged up that it took about 15 min for the nose drops (afrin) to kick in a little bit and even though it says dont use it more then twice in 12 hour period I had to use it 3 times cause I couldnt take it anymore... but anyways yesterday i went to some site called like webmd or something and someone said to take lots of vitamin C so i did just that, I took like 2000mg of vitamin c in the morning and today I feel lot better and I didnt even have to use that nose spray anymore so yea just do that and rest and you should be fine...
