I just redesigned a client's upper level media/sitting room.

It was officially done last night at roughtly 8:30pm - totally accessorized and all the photography hung. The whole project took about six months, cost roughly 83k and added in the destruction of many of my brain cells.

Everyone's happy at the final turn out and there's a mountain of stress off my shoulders.

YAY!

So the rest of the family comes out and sure enough I get THE CALL.

The daughter-in-law's dog urinated on the new sectional, on the new carpet and crapped (the mushy wet kind) in THREE different spots all over the LINEN AND SILK carpet.

Well, you have to know this client to know what she does - she calls me hysterical and I beg her not to use anything on the carpet but water and paper towels until I get "the man of spot removal miracles" over.

Sigh, so... much vinegar and intense scrubing later the violated areas turn green (carpet is a linen beige color).

I get the second CALL.

"You didn't" - I tell her.

"But I always do this and it's fine" - she argues.

"But I begged you not to do anything" - I pleaded

"Please come over" - as she hangs up.

It never ends.

Sidenote: If you were ever curious as to why you get weird tints from animal stains it has a lot to do with the dye in their food - call a professional or don't own carpet.

Oh man that sucks. I like my plain wood floor.

but the more she fucks up the more you get paid right?

i didnt even know you couldget carpetsmade of silk....go figure, damn countries too cold for silk carpets :D

The job is done. Why is it your problem if a dog messes up the work?
83K for one room. Wow...

people never learn

Not really no.
I was pretty irritated - the dog might as well gone all over my carpet.

The drive is at least 2 hours if not 3 in traffic so the fact that the dog could deficate in that large amount tells me that the princess (daughter in law) did not let the dog do his business OUTSIDE before letting him roam free in the house.

And since the family has multiple dogs they should know that any animal the finds something new in a familiar place will try and mark it.

Yeah, can you believe it?
It was imported from New Zealand (the carpet not the dog).

It's not.
She called me to help her find someone to clean it since I have "connections" - LOL.

Go out and buy Season 3 of Curb your Enthusiasm- there's an episode on their that will at least give you a good laugh, called Club Soda and Salt. ;)

All of them are good actually.

More stress = More money

Its just the price we pay.
Now, who’s hot who not
Tell me who rock who sell out in the stores
You tell me who flopped who copped the blue drop

I don’t know what, they want from me
It’s like the more money we come across
The more problems we see

Vel... you should have bit the dog... and kicked the owner...

I'd have been so pissed.... esp since the mornon DIDN'T LISTEN TO YOU!

I would pick up the dog crap with my hand and then slap the daughter inlaw across the face with it! he he he
Then tuck a bill in her pocket for the clean up!

Vel-- my husband is a general contractor. A while back he was talking to his flooring guy who'd gotten a complaint call about how he'd not done a good job sealing her new alder floors.

She was washing the with AJAX?! Who does that? lol

Yep...and it seems like the harder we work at improving our lives, the less satisfaction/content we feel.

This is why dogs should be banned.

We refer to it as 'moussed'.

'That damndable weimeranner of yours moussed all over the damn VandenPlass, Brandon, get the domestica on it toute suite!'

:lmao:

Idiots abound. How goes the 'start' of the season?

;)

I hope you punched her in the fucking face. Rich people and their fucking pets. Just give me a chance to run the stupid pets over and their stupid owners, not only that but I'll back up to make sure I finished the job.

What are you, Martha Stewart?

Anyway I'm glad I don't have to do those things

And whoever owns a dog and gets emotional issues over mess, is trying to combine the impossible.

So....a dog did their business in a house.

This really shouldn't be big news.

You missed the point and yet you found it important enough to take the time to post three times on this thread.

Was the man of spot removal miracles, available?

He's going Mon at 10am - yep this Monday can you believe it.
I'm not going - I don't want to hear or see anything work related before Tuesday.

I've dealt with a lot of emergencies involving property damage and animal fatality.

They seem to be a big deal for a day or two then pass into nothingness.

As for people not listening to advice, that is the bane of the existence of most self employed I think.

We would all be furious in your shoes and most would make a thread.

But it will soon pass and you will pocket some handy cash from some folks who deserved to part with theirs.

Maybe not a good thing overall but it won't be that bad when everything is done. A simple transfer of funds from idiots to others. :)

Seriously velveet.........we have some ornery chemistry going on.

After I get healed up, I ought to show you some good animalistic.........something or other. :rose:

Also....if a customer ever wants a reef tank, make sure the plumbing is in the basement.

Saltwater ruins hardwood floors, its just a matter of time.

What happened to common sense?

When I was looking for a couple sofas for my house I made sure to explain that there would be two small indoor dogs, and the fabric needed to be dog friendly. A couple sales people tried to point me to these light colored sofas, with delicate fabric, and I just gave them the "are you crazy" look.

Oh yeah, you have way more patience than me. I would have took the dogs a treat and then kicked the owner.

why dont people ever listen... I hope you charge her double for the emergency house call!!

on a side note: woo hoo when I have lots of money I know someone to help me decorate it... j/j well..... heehee
