"We liked the plays that we had," Mangini admitted.

So did Belichick.

"We liked the way we were moving the football on the ground," Mangini said, "and thought that was our best chance at that point."
Once again, the Jets employ one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. They made the biggest trade in franchise history to get him.

And Mangini doesn’t think Favre amounts to the Jets’ best chance to score?

Brilliant. Just brilliant. Mangini might’ve embraced Belichick’s style when they worked together up north, but he didn’t leave New England with Belichick’s brain.

Mangini helped make it a memorable one by trying to prove Jones is better than he is, and by trying to make good on the $65 million spent up front on Alan Faneca and Damien Woody.

Belichick? When he said in his opening postgame statement that the Jets were "riding high off of last week’s win over Miami," he meant to say "1-15 Miami," of course. It was Belichick’s way of telling the Jets and their fans to get a clue.

So be it. The sport is dominated by the quarterback position, and Belichick scripted a plan to get the Patriots’ novice past an opposing Hall of Famer.

In the end, Mangini took a knee (not Brady’s) to the gut. Favre doesn’t need to adjust to his coaching; his coaching needs to adjust to Favre.

I cant believe they tried to run the ball at the goal line 3x's in a row.....and I dont understand why they dont use leon washington more. Mangini is starting to piss me off...just bad play calling all around.....this is a loss by the head coach. I still think the jets will bounce back and have a chance at the division, one game dosent mean shit, but it surely put a bad taste in my mouth.

That's a lie. Remember that year they were supposed to win the superbowl and vinny blew out his achilles tendon and nobody even touched him?

werent you giant fans crying a few weeks ago when osi went down......wait till the giants play a real team soon....dont get too happy by beating the rams.

yes, it was a big loss, but we will adjust. our defense is still stout. there is a man named Mathias Kiwanuka, he is pretty good at defensive end too. if you never heard of him. then there is another man named Justin Tuck and even Jerome McDougle is stepping up to the plate.

A win is a win. Better than losing. Sometimes it's harder to beat the teams you're are supposed to beat.

Yeah, some of the playcalling was horrible in that series.
Also, on Mangini it really reeks of "if he was part of the Patriots coaching staff he must be great.
When Mangini was with New England he was the secondarys coach. In 2005 when Romeo Crennel got the HC job in Cleveland he was promoted to Defensive coordinator. That year, players were GASHI NG us for over 200yds per game on the ground. Three quarters through the season Belichick stripped Mangini of all his defensive play callings.
The next season he was Head Coach of your NYJ

Draw your own conclusions\I'm not saying he's a bad coach or anything. I think he's better than Herm Edawards, but I think he's still way in over his head in some aspects.

Still a long way to go, I still see the Jets making the playoffs.

Good game..

jets running 3 st8 times on the goalline and gettin stuffed was the turning point in the game .. terrible coaching nuff said
