by request:

1/2 c. distilled white vinegar
1 t. lemon juice
2T beaten egg
1/3 c. water
1/3 c. vegetable oil
1/4 c. corn syrup
3 T. grated romano cheese
2 T. dry unflavored pectin
1 1/4 t. salt
1/2 t. minced parsley
pinch dried oregano
pinch red pepper flakes

Pour vinegar, lemon juice & egg into blender and blend for 10 seconds to emulsify.

Let the mixture sit for 10 minutes.

Add remaining ingredients and blend on low for 30 seconds.

Chill for 1 hour.

Enjoy.

(Don't worry about the raw egg. The lemon and vigegar will zap any salmonella germies) =-)

A 1/4 cup corn syrup?

Whatever happened to a little balsamic vinegar, some olive oil and herbs?
I hear ya, redguru, and I make dressing like that too.

However, if you want it like olive garden's I'm afraid this is pretty accurate. Save it for a treat day. =-)

damn sounds really good

Am I the only one that thinks Olive Garden is the Denny's of Italian food?????

No.

I worked there for a few weeks since they hire wait staff with no prior experience. The food really wasnt good. Plus those outfits look gay as hell on a woman.

You are welcome people.

And, no, I don't think olive garden is authentic italian food. Sheesh, some food snobs up in here, though...lol. I do think, however, that their salad is great!

I agree that Olive Garden is awful, and that their dressing is strangely addictive.

I love the yummy unflavored pectin in particular. Would it be okay to substitute algin in a pinch?

I have never worked with algin, but if it is an unflavored thickener that works cold and gives it the right viscosity, I don't see why not. =-)

heather i figure ill tell you now
the special sauce in your personal olive garden dressing....
well...it was actually large amounts of my semen mixed in there. we have been saving up gallons for years and shipping them cross country to your particular restaurant. :blow:

bro they have good breadsticks.

Your membership card as an Italian has been revoked.

Their breadsticks are almost like raw dough, and certainly nothing like anything you'd find in any Italian bakery.

I didnt like them either, but peeps be eating that fuckers up like catfish. I worked lunch mostly during my brief tenure as an Olive Garden geekstress and people ate those things like they were loaded with maryjane or something.

I like very very lighlty cooked bread. The bread itself isn't that good, though. I think that people just like that the outside is very buttery, garlicky, and salty.
