Old Time Dosages

That article makes me want to run 10mg Dbol a day, eat, and train and never need more than OTC Sups to recover :-)
I have been saying that people are telling people to START way to high...I dont think a first cycle needs to be 500mg Test E, 40mg Dbol ED, and Winny at the end, but maybe thats just me :-)

Didn't you see what he said about that? He said supplementation was a big part of the whole picture! And what they had back then was crap to the better stuff available now.

i have been thinking a lot about what bodybuilding must have been like back then, it sounds like a much simpler time.

i always end up watching Pumping Iron at least once a fortnight (is that film set later than the time Don Howorth is talking about generally??) , the guys look SO much better in my eyes than they do now.

when i read the part about the AAS doses i nearly choked on my coffee!

Yeah, lots of quality sups now adays! A good mix of quality supplements and LOWER doses of AAS make it possible for people to make great gains and keep them without as much damage and risk to their bodies, which is why I dont understand why some peoples doses are so high with so many compounds each time. But to each his own :-) Im going to keep myself as safe as possible and use as many sups as safely as I can :-)

Protein was shit back then,and a heavy Dbol cycle was 10-20 mgs,Even today i still do at least 10 sets per body part but i also found its better to completely overhaul your training routine and I didn't get into injectables until i joined elite.

Nelson thanks for sharing that article, there were several important pieces of information in the interview. The amount of lifting they used to do, the food they used to eat, they type of food they used to eat, the importance of supps, they never had off season or looked sloppy, the ate right up to the show, and the little amount of gear they needed lastly how all the pros today look the same horible way with distend guts from all the gear!
We really should take note from the older more experienced people.
 
So basically you could probably run a 6 to 8 week 10mg ED Dbol only cycle and just use some of the board sponsors support products on cycle to help keep you running as close to normal as possible and even survive PCT with OTC products from the sponsors as well. You would still want to have Ancillaries on hand for emergency but obviously the risk of sides at a more safe dose go way down :-)

Youd think more people would want this route instead of having to inject 3 times a week and worry about months of PCT...

Im sure you can put on a couple good solid lbs and even cut down some fat on a low dose cycle of dbol like this if you keep the cardio up and keep the diet clean :-)

Until the 90's everyone trained body parts twice a week. Now everything is once a week but juice dosage has tripled....WTF is wrong with that picture? Bunch of candy asses in the game now.

Instead of HARD TRAINING, MORE EATING, LESS DRUGS, BETTER HEALTH.

I dont get it, Im glad Ive held off of ever running any "MAJOR" cycles, one compound at a time, at the lowest dose possible to see decent gains should be everyones goal. Just pumping tons and tons of drugs into your system isnt the safe way to go about things, youd think people would want to save money and their health and keep things low dose and simple.

I don't get it sometimes...

On that note, I'm in Miami on vacation and the gyms are just too damn expensive so I go to a little spot on the beach that has chinning bars and a parallel bars. It's like a mini muscle beach. There are guys who hang out there for hours. They look better than 99% of the guys in the fancy gyms!

I wound up training for almost 2 hours doing just chins and dips and the next day was the sorest I've been in years!

VOLUME. That's the key. Somewhere along the way everybody started worrying about catabolism. FUCK CATABOLISM. It is the most overrated and misinterpreted aspect of bodybuilding. Jack LaLAnne is 96 and HE still trains 2 hours a day, every day. Don't be a pussy! LIFT!!!!!!:chomp::chomp::chomp:

Eat clean, lift, (I still say) have some form of cardio, take sups for your overall health, cycle SAFE amounts of AAS, leads to a much better, safer, more worry free life :-)

Basic Rule: KEEP IT SIMPLE (some people are forgetting or ignoring this)

Hence my 10 - 14 sets per bodypart,Its hard to over train if you eat properly, think of pulpwooders who put in 10-12 hrs day some have huge arms.

I learned a lot from my old man. He gave me my first cycle at 18. 50mg of deca a few times a week. These doses would get laughed at now.


Really?? that's so cool...I always thought about a dad who educate his kid about training and AAS. Today most smoke pot and get drunk with the kids when they are 18, but if I had kids, I would teach them about juice and hard training.

My old man spent over 100 grand building a gym and shit. Was big time into it lol..

I'm thinking about giving d-bol another shot on its own. I tryed it at 20 mg on top of 500 mg of test and couldnt handle the estro sides, but the strength gains were almost instant. I think I'll try it at just 10mg a day with some unleashed to utilize more of the small dosage. I have a friend who took 10mg solo for 6 weeks and put on 10 solid lean pounds and a lot of strength! he looked a lot leaner too! I was amazed! It would be nice to try a cycle thats so easy to recover from with so little sides.
 
In my early 20's I had an older mentor(around 50 back then) that showed me alot. First thing he asked me was 2 questions. Do you want to be strong(powerlifting) or do you want to look strong(cosmetic BBing). Of course, I wanted the look. He wouldn't let me do aas. . . . yet. He helped me gain 17 lbs off creating,eating like a horse and lifting like an animal. He told me him and his friends were doing aas before Arnold was even thought of and they carried it in thier gym bags like it was candy. Said they would be the only ones on the beach that were over 6 feet and just plain huge. You can't replace true mentors like that. Much props to the elders that paved the way that we cruise on for granted.

Doctors studied dbol and said to be most effective steroid (I am not sure myself) and best over all gains

I have been doing gear for 10-11 yrs now and my first cycle lol years ago I was a 17 yrs old and my cousins where huge bodybuilders and they gave me 300-400 dbol tabs and when I started I swas 138 pounds, never ate, smoked weed and cigs, did alot of x, and pills just alot of kid BS well I went to GOLDS GYM and ran into a trainer at front desk. I told him I was tired of my life and being a loser NOBODY!

I started that day and trained for 4 months. At month 4 I started dbol tabs (no drugs or smokes since for 10yrs now)

K long story short I gained ALOT I went from 138 pounds to a great lOoking new man at 175!!! Never after this in 10 yrs did I ever go under 175. I am now 200 pounds 5ft 11 7-8% bf max

it was amazing, i was superman, i loved it, and as the rest of you...:( I miss my VERY first cycle lol

kinda weird that in a way gear saved my life I stopped everything for that one cycle at 17 and I never picked up any bad habbits again and have been bbuilding ever since and I im a fitness trainer

Except I now have Texas Power Bars, and a few weeks ago some really strong MFers came up here to the frozen north to train for this thing I've never heard of called The Arnold Classic ;) and put a bow in my Texas DL Bar.

I would have complained, but at 6' 1" and 265 I was BY FAR the smallest guy in the room and may have been used as a warmup device for complaining.

The SMALLEST guy at 6'1" 265? I don't think there's been a Mr. Olympia over 6' besides Arnold.

These were guys from the strongman side of the tracks, where big means over 6' 4" 320 and 18% bf, posing briefs are replaced with Rehband support equipment, and hairy backs are the norm.

While we're going way back anyone remember the supplement Called Orchid(about 30 yrs ago), was supposed to give you explosive power I was eating them like candy until i found out they were bull testicules.
