Old school marriages vs New aged marriages

Technology is enabling the propensity for extra-marital communications. But wanting extra-marital communication is the root of the problem -- technology just creates more opportunity. In the old days it was the person you met at work or at the gym. Now you meet people many different ways and have more and more opportunities to maintain contact and/or engage in questionable behavior.

^^^ What he said.

Not to mention the fact that many many women didn't have the option of divorce back in the day regardless of how much the marriage sucked.

Divorce is actually a good thing in many circumstances.

Bottom line is new age/old school matters not. What matters is the morals and ethics of the two involved in the marriage. There is nothing that could penetrate the fortress that a couple creates when they commit to each other with marriage, that is unless one or both ALLOWS it. But even then if the foundation is solid the fortress can be repaired/rebuilt better and stronger than ever before. But only if BOTH want it badly enough.

There is no such thing as impossible, but rather only that which we CHOOSE not to do. :)

here we go lol

LOL!!! And what about the men????

Men have ALWAYS had more opportunity/ability to cheat. I think that he was sorta saying this from the vantage point of the other half (women). Divorce has certainly increased, I am sure, as now women have the same opportunity/ability to cheat as their masculine counterparts have always had.

I also think technology is going to come full-circle. In the past, you dialed a location to reach a person. Cell phones decoupled a person from a location so now you dial that person directly. That alone opened the door to all sorts of professionally and personally scandalous behavior.

Soon it comes full-circle. Cell phones now have GPS ability. Even as we speak there is an iPhone 3G application where your phone can exchange positional information with other people on your "friends" list. Interesting, isn't it? That scandal-enabling technology will soon be one of the most scandal-limiting technologies out there.

And don't even get me started with phone records... I hope most people realize those records are saved by your phone carrier for years (yes, years... not months or weeks).

All we really need to do is eliminate cash and use your cell phone as your credit card / bank account access key. Put a fingerprint ID reader onto your cell phone and you have the most secure credit card at all. Then people wanted by law enforcement would have two options -- give up your ability to purchase goods and services or give up your location. That would suck to be a criminal.

Technology is slowly closing-in on us...

Absolutely aware of the GPS capabilities of cellphones - cool! If your spouse is gonna try to lie then they should get their asses fried.

As for the rest of it - cool as well.

It seems a bit creepy that we could all be so "watched" but :whatever: c'est la vie. I don't intend to become the head of some international drug/crime cartel anytime soon so I am thinkin that the government won't really be too interested in my day-to-day activities. :lmao:

My sentiments exactly.

You two are funny. Doesn't bother you if you're watched all the time? I wouldn't be bothered either IF the law enforcement officials don't fuck it up and mistake me for another guy. Given that they've fucked up as well, I'm scared.
