old school glute ham raise

I do them every now and then. In my home gym there is nothing comfortable to lock my heels under.

pretty difficult
and i train solo so it's a bitch finding something to wedge my feet under...i set the pins low on the sq rack and do it like that

Yeah I just do a slow controlled negative and then push off slightly with my hands. These are no doubt super hard.

That's how I was taught to do them. Haven't done any in years, might be about time to pick them back up.

Cheers,
Scotsman

try this to make it easier - face out on the pulldown, hooking your ankles under the knee supports and place a flat bench just next to the seat (so your knees can go on the bench)

attatch a rope pully to the pulldown, put 50-100lbs on it and hold it while you do the ghetto GHR - it's a good way I found to make them easier to work into. Tough exercise

I have tried these and they felt very awkward. I am lucky to have access to an EliteFTS GHR and a reverse hyper. My Hammies are Skrong niggy.
