Assume a scenario where the world may never be the same again and supplies of ammunition/new magazines/parts will be in a terminal decline.

What weapon would you choose for each scenario?

CCW while out and about

Home defense - short range (where H2H could also work)
Home defense - 10-50 ft (someone inside your house but not upon you yet)
Home defense - long range (something semi or full auto if you were stopping someone coming up the road to your house)

Hunting or wilderness survival - smaller game
Hunting around big fucking animals -

Hunting or wilderness survival - smaller game win 270
Hunting around big fucking animals - remington 700 ssbdl 300 win mag

Your assault rifle of choice... ak47 simple easy to use, doesn't jam, doesn't break, very accurate.

BTW- I own all of the above

Thanks, I dont have any of those yet but I'm getting something today. Is the AR-15 an acceptable substitute for the AK ? There's one for sale in a local gun shop and he's looking to deal on it.

Yeah the AR-15 is great it will be much more expensive than an AK and fires a smaller round 5.56mm vs 7.62mm. My Ak with synthetic side folding stock, bayonet, carrying strap, oiler, and belt mag pouches was under $600 after taxes. The AR will probably be up over $1000 unless you are getting a great deal on it. The AK can also take more abuse and is much easier to strip and clean.

#1: P7M8 9mm

#2: AR-15 with 11.5" barrel loaded with Glaser safety slug

#3: again, AR-15 I'd still take a shorty but that;s just me

#4: Anything in .223

#5: .338 Lapua

#6: Sig 552

Home defense - short range: My Bowie Knife or Tomahawk
Home defense - 10-50 ft: My Shotgun (Assault weapon style)
Home defense - long range: My Remington Model700 30-06 with it's 4X12 scope..one shot, one kill

Hunting or wilderness survival - My Ruger 10/22 outfitted with a composite bull barrel, synthetic stock, Red-dot scope, and about 5000 rounds of ammo...and when that runs out, I'll switch to my longbow.
Hunting around big fucking animals: A big fucking gun...probably my 30-06 or 300 Win Mag, depending on the animal.
