Okay, I was Content to Accept the Karma Changes ... Little Math HELP?

Until I re-read that letter GS sent out ... will someone PLEASE explain to mathematically deficient MM why my Karma POWER went from over 350 to 150???

Just break it down for me, please. Because here's what I read:

"Everyone needs to be able to have fun with Karma immediately when they join EF, so we raised the number of hits you get when you register from 10 to 100. Also, now, everyone needs 5,000 karma hits before your Karma counts on other members plus, for every 10,000 Karma Hits for non-Plats and 5,000 Karma Hits for Plats, members gain 1 point of Karmic power."

So, TO MY MIND, this should mean I would have had:

100 (just for being registered) plus 653863/5000 = 130.77 (okay, round up to 131)

So I should have 230 K hits.

I wasn't getting upset about the K change, and I'm sitting here trying to tell other people to go with the flow, it's just little green dots ... but I don't like feeling confused

3206 posts / 500 -> 6
653863 / 5000 -> 130

14 + 6 + 130 = 150

Previously you had one point for every 2000 Hits rather than every 5000.

k hits does not = k power
you dont add the 100 k hits (which is just your total karma) to your k power
he is not saying you start with 100 k power he is saying you start with 100 k hits

Thank you honey .. at least I understand where the 150 came from ... but something doesn't seem right, they're just negating the 100 for being a registered member??? That's inappropriate ...

They need to rethink this program a little seems to me.

I gotta check that out ...

the 100 is what bugs me ... stupid as shit ... theoretically I could create a new handle just before my plat is about to expire, transfer all my K to my new handle, and I'd be losing only slightly more than 20 K or so, I'd be ahead of the game by 80K rather than do that, why can't existing members have the 100 and call it a day?

The 100 is in K Hits not K Power. Up until now, fresh non-Plats began life with 10 Hits. That'll now be 100. Their Power will remain at zero until they have 150 posts and 5000 Hits.
