ThanX brother!! Yes, it definately depends on your metabolism. Metabolism is also effected by many factors. Activity level and genetics being the main factors. Im not sure what my BF% is at, but Im sure you can get an idea from the pics. I was at 5.1 and 7% when I was 18, but never wanted that. Ive always wanted the size and strength first and foremost. I was a skinny kid, and dont have the desire to get skinny again. I can easily shred up later, especially with my metabolism and activity level. When I was eating 6000 cals a day w/ lots of unclean foods, I should of been a fat fuck, but I still stayed lean. Its my lowest priority at the moment. As far as Im concerned its strictly for looks. Doesnt increase my strength any. Makes it ALOT easier to get injured too. Being at 3-5% and lifting maximal weights as I do would probabally tear some muscle. Especially without that extra water in the muscle. It has no benefits to me whatsover. To each his own though.

hey brother,im not sure if you saw it like this but i think jkurz means he only is willing to gain 3% on his bodyfat on a bulk. If he reaches 2-3% death has been reached,or is on it's way fast :D :D


but i agree with you to some extent about bulking...but remember you and needsize are both extremely advanced and extremely strong...you need lots of extra cals to squeeze out a bit more growth..plus your muscle mass actually helps you shed fat quicker when you do cut.
some of us turn into fatasses at the drop of a hat and it can be murder getting back down..so it can be wise limit fat gain totally,especially when you have plenty in the tank before hitting your genetic peak.

ThanX for the clarification brother! Thought that was a bit extreme! I appreciate the compliments also, definately dont see myself in that light! It definately feels like Im hitting somewhat of a natural plateau though. As slow as my gains have been lately, size-wise. That makes sense though, its definately dependant on many factors. Someone starting lifting for example who puts on fat fast, would be better off modifying thier diet to cut down on fat gain. Jkurz seems to have some good mass though and lean as well so Id think he could get away with it. Depends how concerned you really are about fat gain, and also how well you can lose it. For me, its the least of my concerns at the moment. Im struggling just to gain. haha ThanX for the feedback!

Man Dorian, you always got to toss in the sacarsm, don't you? :rolleyes:

My point was, I don't want to do the Lee Priest bulking regimine...my theory is that most of those dudes bulk up so fast and gain so much bodyfat, because they have to....reason being, the have X amount of time to get ready for the next show.....for me, I have time. I don't see the point of gaining 30lbs in 6 months with half being fat........I'd much rather gain 1-1.5lbs of lean mass a week....+ it makes it easier to take of in the summer (NOW)......so, I would like to be careful for the nesxt few months as the weather breaks and put on some solid lean mass...then maybe up the anty a little in the fall........pondering the idea of hitting a cycle (havent done it for awhile now) then again, maybe I should wait till sept.............. :worried:

I wish I could gain 10lbs in 6 months... period!! Nevermind 30lbs!! haha Good luck with your goals brother!!

haha Dont you think thats a slight exaggeration? Its not about the amount of times I eat. Its about the quantity of foods I take in. I made my best gains eating alot of calories and high protein. I could eat 130 grams of protein in one meal for example, but I still get it in at the end of the day. I believe if its not running through me, my body is using it. I think it has more to do with hitting a natural plateau. Im going to give it some time though. The diet Im on now is nothing like my original bulking diet, but my bodyweight has still been good. I was 195 on my home scale at the end of the day yesterday, and I wasnt even full. I can eat 6000 calories a day,over 300 grams protein, real unclean and gains are still very slow.
