ok to Train in the AM, first thing before any real meals?

strength

do i risk anything by training in the mornings, not just cardio, but heavy workouts like my back workout tomm, without having any carbs before????

might sound like a dumb question so take it easy. I always have 30-40 grams of whey right before working out to delay catabolic effects as much as possible, and provide emmediate protein for repair

Obviously i would be eating simple and complex carbs with protein as soon as im done training

I know there will be some debate on this one... most advice I've heard say in order to exercise intensely you MUST eat (carbs) before work out. I have worked out pretty darn intense on an empty stomach, probably due to PLENTY of liver and muscle glycogen from prior eve's food. All in all I prefer eating something light pre-work out (protein and carbs).

I would highly recomend the empty stomach am workouts for those days when you may have over indulged on carbs sugars the night before. In genral though i think the intensity of early morning workouts should be kept low .

eating 60-90 min before training in the mornings is certainly better

if you don't have time a shake will be better than nothing

the "risk" is to feel weak and not train properly

i'm starting to workout in the mornings next week at 6:00,. i'll have a shake 30- 40 min before workout with a carb to get me up, then a creatien with dextrose at the first 1/2 of my workout out. I'll also take NYC as soon as i get yup. I'll let you know if this works.

Hmm

IF you wake up put 30-50grams of whey in your stomach and go lift you will be fine. I think it will help with the fat burning and perserve some lean tissue. Just Make sure POST workout you get the carbs and reProtein yourself.

OK in most cases

The following examples are OK for working out on an empy stomach in the AM:

- Massive cheat day the day before including carbing up through the evening - this will not tax you too much and clear out all that extra glycogen

- When cutting, just keep it to 60 minutes or less, NO cardio

- When on AAS's, usually you can get away with alot of shit on gear, I know I have..:D

because of my work schedule (4pm to midnight or later), i usually work out about 2 hours after whenever i wake up.

the concept of real food in the "morning" make me ill; 2 or 3 cups of coffee and a protien bar is all i can gag down.

i have found little difference between working out on an empty stomach or with something in it.

(when consuming dnp, i make sure i eat something; or i get weak, mean, and eyesight blurs.)
