CO B-man said:Headhunters are scumbags that really could give two shits about anyone. They sell you on the company and sell the company on you and if you make a connection they win whether you were right for the job or not. Go in jeans and and old raggy T-shirt and tell them I just wanted to meet a real life scumbag. They are right up there with lawyers, the IRS and Insurance companies! In my industry thay call all the time and I send them on wild goose chases!!
CO B-man said:Also Companies do not always like going through headhunters because they get a big chunk of what was offered to you as your yearle salary. Anywhere from like 25% up. Who do you think pays? Yup the company and ultimately you with a lower salary and/or incentive bonus. If you go directly to the companies they do not have to pay all these fees and are more loose with an incentive bonus or a larger yearly salary. Headhunter 101! learn to say Thank but Fuck you, I am worth it and can get a job on my own without you to them! Um unless you have like a degree in like basket weaving psychology or sociology or something then you might want to be a little nicer!
Sorry for my rantings this a.m. I got up out of the wrong side of the bed but luckily I stepped on a headhunter and kicked a lawyer (Without them or any witnesses seeing who did it) rear-ended an IRS Representative and screwed my insurance company cause otherwise I ould be a real asshole about it! lol!
healother said:if you are lazy like me, and have a hard time finding jobs on your own, then headhunters are the answer!
You dont know me. I eat headhunters alive! I would never go through them.swole said:business casual, i've seen people go with jeans and a decent shirt, headhunters could care less
i don't know why people are ripping on headhunters, you only go to them if you need them
it's not their fault you take the job
that's like being mad at a barber for cutting your hair "wrong" despite telling him to do it the wrong way
be upfront and direct with them, cut out all the bullshit
then again if you're a mush like cob man you'd probably get fucked
CO B-man said:Perfect match actually. They will make you sound lie the very best employee ever and when the employer eventually finds out you are lazy and lets you go you are both worse of than when you started. Your resume looks like shit, your jobless, THey are out of an employee in a position they wanted to fill, costs them money in fees and training and the scumbag headhunter is sitting fat and happy with his check.
btw you said you were lazy I am just repeating your words.
healother said:sorry, i didnt make myself very clear earlier. When I said lazy, I meant only when it comes to looking for jobs. When I am on the job, I am a very good hard worker. But I just hate having to look for jobs.
CO B-man said:Oh my apologies.
But they are perfect for lazy and worthless employees no doubt

chewyxrage said:The head hunters I worked for got calls from companies after having open positions for 3-6 months that their human resources department couldn't fill, and they needed the spot filled now. The headhunter gets the job done. The headhunter will never negotiate their fees w/ the prospect they are trying to get hired, you gotta be kidding me.

healother said:headhunters do collect a pretty penny for the job they do. i bet they make quite a bit of money every year.
i should become one, lol, yeah right, if the area around here wasnt already infested with enough of them!
CO B-man said:They need to make a pest repellent for them. It needs to smell something like ether!
healother said:i hate when i get an email that says "interested in your resume"
and i read the content of it and find out its a headhunter.

Its o.k. a lot of young guys just getting into their careers feel real important when a headhunter calls them too! They are good at making you feel like you stand out above the rest. Why else would they be calling you and not little Marky in the cubicle next to yours. Yup I must be Exec Material to be getting this call. Lets keep this on the down-low! lol!
After learning to read through the bullshit you will realize the same as I have stated. Come back and let me know what you learned when you get another 11 years in the business world under your belt
