it dont matter what brand or kind I use there is always foam at the top of the glass foam sucks it makes me sick I have a hard time drinking it.so I skim it off the top and I throw it away...how much of the protein you think is in the foam.
ya kind of dumb ?? for me to be asking but I was just thinking about it.how much of the whey ends up in the foam.

I recommend blending it in a good blender at a moderate speed, that will stop a lot of that foam bro.that shit grosses me out too.

I use a magic bullet it works the best to cut down on the foam but I still get a good amount on the top of the glass that I just cant drink I have to get rid of it.

I use the magic bullet and I don't get any foam at all. It may be the type of protein powder that is causing the foam, because it is not the type of blender.

The only thing I can think of is to blend up the shake and let it sit for a bit. Of course this only works if you aren't in a rush (which is probably why you're drinking a shake in the first place). If it sits there long enough the bubbles/foam will go away. That way you don't waste any.

na its not that I have no time..god knows I got plenty of time lol..its just some times I cant eat all I need to eat...ill try letting it sit thats a good idea..

The foam bloats me like a mother. I have found that setting it sit for a while seems to work. What I also do is make all my shakes in the morning and let then sit in the fridge till I need them. Not only do I not have any excuse to drink them, because they are already made, there isn't any foam at all by the time I need them. Also don't know if you use milk or water but maybe switching would help ya out.

i doubt your wasting any serious amount thats worth worrying about bro

I agree very little waste BUT the foam shit is nasty!!!

I been using milk with hand full of ice in a shaker cup and I found that works well also letting it set in the frige for 15 20 min then slow stir with a spoon any foam works well too.

Muscle Tech powder is KING of the foam IMO.

You can use a Foam Arrestor but they are very expensive and are found more in lab blending equipment than your regular kitchen blender.

Foam Arrestor

About the only thing you can do as an alternative is to make sure that the blender container is sealed, that the actual container is as full as possible, and that you use a lower setting to enssure that as little air as possible is pulled down into the mixture. It is the air which gives it the foam.

This has happened to me too. I have tried all kinds of blenders from expensive to cheap. Blending by nature is going to introduce air into your shake, and the longer you blend the more air you're going to have.

For me, without skimming, this resulted in a lot of gas and bloating, so I went to a shaker and skim the foam and it all seems to work fine. The last thing I need is more gas.

Gas also seems to cause more diarrhea as well since I believe it interferes with the proper coagulation of the crap. If I feel bloating and a buildup I just take a Phazyme (simethicone) which seems to help.

To answer your question I would guess a extremely small amount of protein is lost.

Good luck.

Funny as i just had this problem after changing my supply from ON to a new brand. When i used ON Whey i never had any foam at all and it blended well, but recently in the UK the price of it went up by around £5 a tub so i changed to a diffrent manufacturer and it goes foamy as fuck, i just let it sit for a while it helps but still dosent get rid of it all. I also use a blender but imo thats makes it worse....

dude for sure if you add 4 or 5 ice cubes while blending you wont get any foam at all...

i guarantee it

I'm not sure if you guys would go for this but I usually drop in a teaspoon of olive oil into a foamy cup of freshly blended protein shake, stir it with a spoon and it goes away in seconds.

i find any of my shakes that are all protein have the foam. i likie my myoplex vanilla as an alternative to a late night snack. i mix with skim milk in my shaker cup. anyone i mix that has 20g of carbs in it never seams to foam

i tried adding some extra virgin olive oil to my shake, significantly reduced foam... i also used a bit less water/milk than i normally would. dont know if that made a difference

only protein ive had that foamed is syntrax nectar. that stuff tastes awesome though so it didnt bother me.

dymatize doesnt foam at all in my magic bullet.
