I leave the whole meat section to u guys. I am planning on buyin a lot of meat and fish, and i will look up the yummy thread or something to find out how to cook em. God i am running out of ideas. Any help is appreciated. Thank-you.

ps. don't worry about toothpaste etc, i am concentrating just on food.

Drop the pepsi, and the sandwich slices, add Tuna, and skinless chicken breast, you also wouldn't hurt by adding bananas and potatoes, lots of steak.Stay away from proscessed meats and pop,try orange juice.Keep it clean, and you'll gain quality mass.

2 chickens .. intact. lol thats all.
All of this cost exactly $ 101.

now that i have everything i need(hopefully) let the cooking begin. For dinner i will boil some eggs now.

ps. I don't think i was able to find any good oatmeal brand. I found this cheap flour type thing, was that good oatmeal? Now u know the extent of my newbieness. hehe. Honestly i am just a teenager stepping in adulthood. thank you all for your participation.

add to list:
garlic
ginger
potatoes
Onions
Tomatoes
Cheese (mozarella)

Things i had to exclude or couldn't find:

Pork -- I just can't eat pork. It makes me sick. Last time i tried, don't ask.

Protien powder (that stuff, i will go buy another day) i have some now.

For most of herbs and spices and sea foods i will have to go to some variety store.

I hate to say this .. i couldn't find Blueberries. Instead i got blueberry cookies. ;)

Miso : now what is exactly this miso??

Do you have a Trader Joe's near you?? They have awesome frozen fruits, like blueberries for about $1.99 a bag -- pretty reasonable. You can add them to stuff you make like pancakes, cereal/oatmeal, etc.......

Pancakes: Blend 1 yolk & 4 egg whites with 1/3 cup dry oatmeal, Splenda, cinnamon, vanilla extract (optional), flax oil or flax meal (1 tblsp), bit of baking powder (optional). Cook like pancakes. Serve with SF syrup.

You have a LOT of sugar there....... Not good at such a young age to get in the bad habit of sugar addiction/reliance.....

Fava beans: http://www.italianfoodforever.com/iff/news.asp?id=523

Fava beans: Definition: [FAH-vuh] This tan, rather flat bean resembles a very large lima bean. It comes in a large pod that, unless very young, is inedible. Fava beans can be purchased dried, cooked in cans and, infrequently, fresh. If you find fresh fava beans, choose those with pods that aren't bulging with beans, which indicates age. Fava beans have a very tough skin, which should be removed by blanching before cooking. They're very popular in Mediterranean and Middle Eastern dishes, can be cooked in a variety of ways and are often used in soups. Also called faba bean, broad bean and horse bean. See also beans

Soy sauce: Use to season your meats, veggies and rice. Watch the portions due to the possible high sodium.

Thank you Jenscat, i have invited my GF over for dinner to my apartment for the first time ever. In almost two months!! I will cook for her. Flava beans look really good. yum yum, now i have to practise and clean up. Life is tough. Jeez.

You're welcome!! Hope you enjoy cooking. I know one of my greatest pleasures is cooking for someone & seeing the pleasure on their face when they enjoy it!! Glad to see you wanting to learn!! Good for you!!

any other questions, please feel free to ask....

good job
as for the oatmeal, don't look in the cereal aisle rather look in the health food section
bob's red mill makes a great one so does trader joe's if you have one near you (here in ottawaaaaaaaa we do not have one:bawling:

as for miso think of it as a vitamin and mineral packed flavouring paste

used often to make a light soup broth in japan

i often use it to make a simple salad dressing (just add a teaspoon to a cup of Italian dressing and a teaspoon of sesame oil)

you can combine it with a bit of fresh chopped ginger, garlic, and rice vinegar and use as a paste to rub over chicken or fish before baking

the other day i added a teaspoon to a 1/4 cup mayo and coated a salmon filet before popping in the broiler
made a nice tasty crust while still nice and creamy underneath

oooh what are you cooking for her? :)

ohh, it kind of got postponed. I had to fix things here and there in the apartment, like the ugly scratches on the bath tub and get mirrors fixed. I had to get a sofa, which i did. And i had to get a bigger bed. I still had my bed from my teenage times.Even I could hardly fit in it anymore. hehe. she is coming this weekend. I talked to Obi, he thought me how to make his special chick peas salad, lol, its easy, and spinach with shrimp. I would use chicken instead of shrimp since she loves it. Almost exactly what obi cooked for his date. Cheers.

You can roast the chick peas. They make a decent little snack (like peanuts).

2 cans Chick peas (drained)
Ungreased pan
350 degrees
50 minutes

if you toss them in a tiny bit of flax oil and then quickly dust them with wasabi powder, you have a mansnack, Cootchiesan.

Finally!! we were able to have some loud sex... usually i had to be cautious. i wish i could share the feeling. The feeling of freedom. Although the neighbours.. ahh foget it. Its supposed to be my grocery shopping thread.

It cost like 3 bucks to get 680 g of Bob's steel cut oats. Anyone know a better source for this, I'm buying it at health food store, and I know those places are rip offs, but supermarkets dont' seem to carry them in Toronto.

i get em for 2.75 at my nearby loblaw's here in ottawa
love loblaws

that's actually a decent price
you may want to try bulk barn but they might not be that fresh
or cultivate a relationship with a store manager/owner they can perhaps cut you a deal bring em in

For rolled oats I can get 44 cents per lb...you'd think the least processed shit would be cheaper
steel cut is just as different to rolled oats
as rolled oats are to instant
the gi is much lower and alot tastier
looks like broken grain
