Not for about 5 years or so. After a couple people got killed (one or two got thrown in the river, one out of the Basement) and an off-duty police officer got put in the hospital by a couple of bouncers - the city shut down pretty much everything. That was on the west bank. East bank has Rockbottom and used to have Aqua - until they raided it for all the drugs.

Same for Cincy after all the rioting in Detroit...They just built everything up across the River in Northern Ky (Newport) so people go over there now. Its sad really because we have the two new stadiums and its kind of cool - but when people feel uneasy its hard to get them to come back again.

I'm a cincy guy, yea it totaly makes me sad. I used to love to go downtown and just walk around, I always felt safe. I went down there about a month ago and was taking pictures of music hall and started getting harrassed by the locals...i.e. thugs. I quickly left, I was way out numbered, and forgot my gun (conceil and carrry!).

Then my little brother was down at have a nice day cafe a year or two back, went out to his car to get something, he had a gun put to the back of his head and got his wallet and cell phone stolen.

Downtown Cincinnati used to be really nice, but I refuse to down there with my wife. Newport on the other hand is really nice, they have totally turned that around. Hopefully (and I really doubt it) the banks project will take off and they can clean up mini-detroit, I mean Cincinnati!
