Now, in actuality the earth is in a warming trend. What gets people in trouble is saying this trend is caused by man. This could be entirely cyclical. We observed rapid temperature gradients in the Dark ages, and have proven massive rapid climate changes in the paleozoic era through sampling the earth's crust. Pre-Feudal robber barons were not driving cars spewing emissions into the atmosphere, nor were the dinosaurs and early mammals. So could not the cause be entirely or vastly caused by natural events? The jury is still out.
